Lakers should invite Jonathan Bender to training camp

Even if Caracter turns down big money and playing time in Europe he will be in the D-league or sitting in street clothes on the bench at Staples. Bender is another long 7 footer Robert Horry clone who plays in the high post shooting wide open 3's. Decent help defender and a pretty good 3rd string pf to have. Better than Josh Powell.

If healthy, he will get an invite to some camp. I just do not see the Lakers interested in a 3 point shooting big man.
I pass.

Cool even though I disagree. I think they would be interested in a Robert Horry-ish big along as his name is not Brian Cook. Never the less I'm just talking about a camp invite. You gotta invite some bodies might as well be some with some talent.

No it's not Jonathan. He's to busy training in New Orleans. Excuse me for injecting a legit basketball discussion that requires thought and insight.

I don't see the point of inviting a washed up once promising forward simply for the sake of signing someone. He's not making the team no matter which you look at it, which is the bottom line. Pointless. And I'll spare my actual thoughts on that comparison of big shot Rob, even though no one has said anything about it.

Training camp man. I'm talking about training camp. Training Camp. You have atleast 17 or 18 bodies in camp even if you have 0 roster spots available on paper. Just because you are a 2nd rd pick doesn't mean you have a guaranteed roster spot. You have to earn one in you guessed it "in training camp" Ask Corey Hightower about that. Ebanks and Caracter are fighting over guaranteed money and partial guarantees incase they don't make the team. It's not a given and their agents know that.

Chefy, WTF is that sig about?
At this point, I'd much rather see Caracter play than Bender. The last thing we need is another guy eating up our payroll who isn't going to play, a la Walton. Gerald Green had a better chance with us than Bender does, and we didn't keep him.
