Lakers vs. Heat 2K10 Analysis Post Yours!

LAKERS vs. HEAT 2K10 What if?

So yesterday I was on the Xbox 360 goofing around and finally broke down and downloaded an updated roster as of 8/8/10. Sure it was a user created roster but everyone was there for the Lakers and the Heat. So I played Lakers at Heat. It wasn’t a pure sim as I did play as the Lakers. But mostly everything was fair no real advantage. I played with standard 2k10 sliders. No tweaks other than the roster. Here are some things that I noticed in the game that will most likely reflect back in real life.
Wade – Dude is already killer in real life and is just as deadly in the game. Now with Lebron and Bosh in tow, Wade is now free to run the perimeter on the offense. At first I put Derek Fisher on him and well let’s say it wasn’t pretty. I did not want to put Kobe on him as I thought Kobe would get tired and or foul Wade too much. Fisher played exactly like the Fisher we know and love. He sucked it guarding Wade. Once I put Kobe on him in the 4th that shut Wade down completely. Wade finished 26pts 4ast 8rbs
Chalmers – First of all let’s just be real about it, Chalmers is no Rondo back when the big 3 first got together in Boston. Chalmers is solid and will be just that when LeBron, Bosh, and Miller is in the mix. He did exactly what I expect him to do in real life. If you left him open to double Wade or LeBron you were basically playing with fire. Chalmers on 2k10 will lock it in from deep and keep you honest. Kobe guarded Chalmers at first in the game then I switched with Fisher and later Barnes. Barnes shut Chalmers up real good. Chalmers end with 15pts 12 assists for the night. My plan was to let Chalmers shoot it all game long.
Bosh – Okay maybe he isn’t the stud on a level with Pau but he is no scrub and can carry a team if you let him. I played Bosh straight up. No double teams ever. Pau was on him all night at least until the CPU put in James as PF for a few minutes. Bosh finished the game with about 10pts 8rbs. Bosh could not handle Pau in the post. I basically had my way in the paint. Bosh was a non-factor on defense in the post with Pau or Bynum. I would imagine it will be exactly the same in real life. Big Z made it crowded in the paint but could get down helping Bosh quickly enough. One thing that must be said, Bosh is a Zone defense killer. He is too quick in the post, he got behind the defensive player guarding the paint every time.
LeBron – Will he average a triple double next season? I was doubtful until I played this game, James ended the game with 20pts 6ast 6rbs. I had Artest on him the whole game. For about 2 or 3 plays I noticed Lebron played the PG during a few plays I thought it was neat how 2k AI picked up on this. Looking back I should have rotated Barnes and Artest on LBJ. Most of his scores were rebounds off miss 3pt attempts I made. He would do as in real life situations, sprint for the opposite side of the court for an uncontested dunk. He never once scored in a set play. LBJ only scored on put backs, transition, and the foul line. I think both James and Artest ended the game with 4 or 5 fouls. The Zone killed James’ game but somehow made Bosh unstoppable. I think we may see the same type of scoring from James in real life. You will probably never see him stand at the top of the key and drive it down any opponent’s throat anymore. Lebron and Bosh did not play as many minutes as Wade. Wade was on the floor for 65 percent of the game. Kobe only played 30-35 minutes. Kobe never guarded James. I had double in the paint and James had little or no success in outside shooting against Artest or Odom. He was very good at passing out when doubled in the paint to open shooters, which is where he gained his 6 assists.
Miller – This guy can light it up in real life and 2k10 does his game justice. He shot an epic 80 percent from outside. He is a down right dam good zone buster. Miller and Bosh completely make the zone irrelevant in 2k10. So imagine anyone crazy enough to try to run the zone in 2k10 against them is in for a world of hurt. Miller is going to make it rain all game long. I played Miller tight to no avail. Can you imagine what he is going to shoot in real life!? When James, Wade and Big Z were on the bench, Miller, Bosh, Chalmers, Arroyo, and Haslem took over. There is no way you can leave Miller for anything. NOTHING!
Kobe – With the new additions of legit shooters it is pretty well known that Kobe assist numbers could skyrocket. 2k10 was able to reflect this. Kobe ended the game with 26pts 8 assist and 4 rebounds. Wade guarded Kobe mostly and I was mildly intimidated by the Heats defense. Anyone other than Kobe or Pau in the paint was a tossup. Kobe scored easily against Chalmers and LBJ as well. LBJ picked up several fouls when picking up Kobe on switches and mismatches. I would guess that LBJ will not let this happen as he will stay as far away as possible from Kobe to prevent such fouls being called against him.
Barnes – I imagined that Barnes once on the floor with Kobe in real life could thrive. On 2k10 he does. Barnes gave LBJ fits! Shut Chalmers down in the 4th and scored a quick 11 points and 5 Assists 2 steals. 1 of the steals was a rip from Wade while Wade stood at the top of the key!!! I was guarding with Bynum down low as I always do…

Last Thoughts: I am going to play again with more realistic sliders and probably and another updated roster. This current roster has Kobe ranked at 94 and LeBron 97. I don’t know how you all feel about that? Next time I expect to see more fouls and slower pace to the game. The Heat may run more plays for LBJ with the update sliders. Odom, Blake, and Barnes minutes were not realistic enough for me they should have had more playing time and less time for Fisher. Kobe was on the bench until 4 minutes left in the 4th?!!! Zone will be turned off. Little or no fouls called against Pau down low is unacceptable so I ‘m sure with the new sliders this will be fixed.
This is really just for fun and analysis of SIMed Heat vs. Lakers match. I hope someone can post 2 k 10 analyses Heat vs. Celtics, Heat vs. Magic and other Heat versus.

the playoffs were kind of realistic, they had the magic eliminating the heat in the ECF in 5 games
