OT- (sort of) Unlikely Laker Fans

Post#1 » by LakerZombie » Thu Aug 12, 2010 6:55 pm

Hopefully this wont get locked and deleted as possible flaming ......lol

Regarding the Lakers Christmas game against the Heat.....I find it weird and amusing that for the most part devout Laker haters might actually be pulling for the Lakers when they face the Heat as the current Champs take on the newest threat to emerge in the NBA.

We all visit other teams boards on here but its gonna be weird when that time comes to see a bunch of fans of other teams (esp the cavs fans) rooting for us on Christmas :D

Yes they will root for other teams as well to beat Miami, and im sure there will still be tons of fans rooting against us as per usual :D

Even Celtics fans will be rooting for us (which I'll be doing the same for them vs the Heat), which will feel REALLY weird.

i also kinda sorta rooted for the celtics. A) the revenge factor B) we had homecourt. we would have been on the road in CLE or ORL.

I can never root for the Celtics, if they beat the Heat they beat'em. If they don't I could still care less. I only worry about what we do against those teams. But yeah I've seen where other fans have said they'll pull for us this season.......I like the role of "Hit Man".

As much as I hate Boston, I will be rooting for them against the Heat.

Its not so much "rooting" but picking the lesser of two evils lol

just like watching a playoffs series w/o the lakers in it....you dont care either way or you'd prefer one team triumph over the other.

Every fan of a team in the eastern conference will root for the Lakers outside of true Celtic fans.

I dont think we have new fans, just people rooting for us to beat the Heat.

Like i dont think anyone cares if we beat the celtics or anyone else in the East.

But 29 teams unite when Miami's in the fold, they're the new team to go after even tho we're the current champs.

Its definitely odd, i still despise the celtics, but after that last series i do respect them and also want them to beat Miami :D

Why root for other teams when the LAKE SHOW can beat all of them?

It's like... why even hit on lesser chicks when your own wife is already an LA 10

A better analogy is you have a wife in LA, but there's two girls fighting over your friend and you pick one of them for your friend. The fact that you prefer one and give that advice to your friend doesn't make you cheat on your own wife ;P

The only game that matters is the game of that night. We can not worry about say game 28 when we play the Heat or some game in the future here or there. We just got to take it one game at a time. Make it one win at a time and hope to stay healthy and focused and make Phils last season the best we can.

Yes there are challenges out there. Orlando. Boston. And maybe now the Heat. Until the heat play game one, they are just that. a team that is 0-0 as of right now.
