The Lakers other second-round draft pick, Derrick Caracter, a 6-9 PF/C big man selected No. 58 out of the University of Texas El Paso, has also agreed to terms with the team. Caracter is flying out to Los Angeles on Thursday to officially sign with the team Friday, according to Caracter's agent, Happy Walters.

Walters said Caracter's deal is guaranteed at the rookie minimum for 2010-11 with a team option in place worth approximately $788,000 for the following season.

I generally don't pay any attention to low draft picks, but I'm curious to see how he and Ebanks pan out. They have intriguing potential.

Phil returning, re-signing of Fish/Brown - using the MLE on Blake/Barnes and potential impact players in Caracter and Ebanks.

All of that with your core intact and ready.
(not to mention Kobe healing up and Pau resting this off-season)

After hearing about Ebanks getting signed I was hoping DC would be next. Roster is set, now let's get these guys in camp and see what we can do about this 3-peat.

Ebanks > Morrison

At least our bench guys now can give us minutes, it's not so much about putting up outrageous numbers. Just keep the flow of what the starters build. I like what we've done big time.

This is good news. I'm definitely getting amped for the upcoming season. It should be a great one, and I fully expect to be bragging about a 3-peat when it's all said and done.

This. Our starting line-up plus Lamar is still one of the top 6-man rotations in the league, the bench now has the ability to do what we need which is hold down the fort while the starters get some rest. I'm sure you were all equally as frustrated as I was last year watching leads slip away at the hands of Farmar and Sasha.

I totally get where you are coming from bro - but I have to say dude can ball. He may have some shortcomings and won't be a star overnight but he was a huge steal in the draft.

Knowing you - I think you'll like what you see out of his abilites.

To me - he's the more skilled player than Ebanks but I'm looking forward to seeing both of them at the next level.

I'm happy we signed both of them. For their prices it would have been foolish not to.
