What Are Your Favorite Sports Teams ?

What are your favorite sports teams, and for the non obvious ones, why?

1. Los Angeles Lakers, B2B NBA Champions, I've bled purple and gold since nearly birth, like many of us.

2. Baltimore Ravens, I truly believe this is one of the best organizations in all of sports (from top to bottom) no one pays much attention to and I think they are going to reel off a few Championships sooner rather than later. Every year I follow their transactions as they get stronger and stronger, younger and smarter. Suggs might be the defensive player of the year this season, he's a BEAST.

With no teams in Southern California I fell in love with their defense in their SB victory in 2001, and have followed them since. I rooted for the Raiders but was so tired of the moronic fans and the commitment to losing. Remember that Raider fan that stabbed the Chargers fan at the SD game WTF!

3. San Francisco Giants, fighting for their playoff lives. They have the best pitching in baseball top to bottom, and tough veterans that have been castoffs from other teams.

I rooted for the Dodgers as a kid, but after the O'Malley's left, I looked elsewhere to the hated ones, the battery chuckers, and I haven't looked back since. I loved the Giants uni's and I loved how they always fought and grind out games, so unlike the easy breezy lemon peezy Dodgers. I love Vinny though ;).

4. Duke Blue Devils, best rivalry in all of sports IMO UNC/DUKE, nearly their entire season is on ESPN for free, and I wasn't a UNC fan eventhough we got Mitch, Sam, and Big Game from them. I pretty much blindly select Duke every year as my champion in the tourney and work my way backwards making my picks. Finally it paid off, small pool $180 bucks for a $20 risk.

#1 LA LAKERS- I bleed Purple and Gold since Birth. Fanatic.
Born in 1982 and that same year my Parents took me to the Lakers Championship parade

#2 LOS ANGELES DODGERS- Tough Year for us but at least we got rid of Manny and his contract , kept Andre Eithier and Matt Kemp.
Hopefully Frank Mcourt will sell the team to an owner who will concentrate on getting us some decent pitchers.

#3 UCLA BRUINS - John Wooden R.I.P

#4 PITTSBURGH STEELERS - Troy Polamalu is my favorite player in the NFL.
As for the Steelers don't really care too much about football or the franchise. Just a big fan of Troy.
As for you DubaLakers congrats on your Ravens this season , they look great and ED REED is a Beast.

Team-wise, only the Lakers for me. In baseball, I just follow our Taiwanese baseball players (ex. Wang, Kuo, etc). Sucks to see Wang fall off so quickly after his injury, but Kuo has been beasting this year for the Dodgers.

LOL......Dub that's right man ! But I will say this Dub, the Ravens look potent this season.

As to the topic.....

1. Lakers - Been following team since mid to late 70's. Epitome of greatness no explanation needed.

2. Steelers - Same with this team to, Terry Bradshaw and Swan, Mean Joe 6 time champs can't beat that.

3. UCLA Basketball - Great tradition, program goes hot and cold but they always rebound.

4. LA Kings - Waiting for the day I see them hoist the Stanley Cup, damn Ducks got one before them....damn it !

been a great 6-7 years for me...

LA Lakers since ~1989-1990
Football Club Internazionale di Milano since 1998
Cantebury-Bankstown Bulldogs (Rugby League) since 1990s
Sydney Swans (AFL) since 1996

if were to extend my fandom to american sports (seeing that i have a lot of family living in Anaheim):
Anaheim Angels
SF 49ers

and all the Aussie NTs have done pretty well for themselves over the years (except Rugby Union, they're just a mess but at least they're FINALLY (like 5 years late) turning the corner).

LAKERS - All day. The good ( Back To Back Champs) - The bad ( smush at point and tierre brown at point n e 1?)

DODGERS- Rough Year. Matt Kemp and Kershaw are superstars in the making.

RAIDERS - oh man, anything is better than Russell at QB.

Kemp looks like he doesn't want to even be out there.

He looks like a guy that once he gets his big contract, he'll just coast.

I wonder if he even loves baseball.

Crazy8ths and GK ,
Mike Vick looked like his old self yesterday.

If Vick keeps playing this, Kolb will be the backup when he returns

It's great celebrating this 2010 Lakers Championship but,
I Can't wait until the NBA season begins.
Image

Football is great but they need to add more games or something.
Games are only on Sunday. 1 game on Monday and then 1 game on Thursday.......
Just too slow for me.

1. LAKERS - Old enough to remember the start of Showtime. The 80's were easily the best sports decade for me.

2. DODGERS - Finally beating the Yankees in 81 was great. Being at Game 1 in 88 for Gibson's homerun, greatest live sports moment for me.

3. KINGS - I must be a loyal fan. Go to multiple games every year. Still waiting for that first Cup.

4. LIONS - Grew up a Rams fan, but when they left, I went with my second favorite team and haven't looked back. (Lions were robbed yesterday  )

Lakers. Goes without saying.

Huge Oregon Ducks fans. Was too young to remember how it even started, but more interested in their football team than their basketball team, as their football team is dominant (Ranked #5 this week) and their basketball team hasn't been worth watching since little Aaron Brooks was chucking his way to the L.
