2012 does not matter. Only thing that matters is the 2010-11 season.

So why even worry about it. Get a clue.

who are you, Magiccontinues? These negative posts are absolutely worthless.

You know Kobe will be on that Olympic team if he's asked to go.

Barring Kobe isn't banged up after yet another exhausting playoff run.

At his age it doesn't matter, Kobe is going to be banged up by season's end one way or another.

Gut feeling tells me he and Pau will remain game free during summers so its never concerned me. Kobe up until 2008 hadn't ever entered his name to FIBA play or in the Olympics, so why would he feel compelled to keep competing now? He's always been a smart guy when it comes to basketball, and should know the time to pull back on the reins if he wants prolong his career.

Does Team USA need Kobe if they have Durant? What position is KD playing (couldn't watch the world championships in the country I'm in right now).

All I mean is we just won the WC's with our B-squad. Pau didn't play for Spain...were the other teams sending their B's too? Why do we need the Redeem Team to go back?

Pau will play for Spain in 2012 unless he's injured. You can bet on that.

Yeah PAU is all in book it, sorry Laker fam. Unfortunately does anyone know if he has to play to again next summer because SPAIN did not get an automatic bid?

As far as KOBE, I heard on ESPN they have already counted Kobe, Bron, Wade and Durant as definite. Because of Odom's play in the FIBA 2k10 there is already talk that his spot is guaranteed as well.

DWilliams, Billups, Bosh, Pierce, Rondo, Rose, DHoward, Booz, Chandler, Mike Miller are just a few names that I heard were certainly considered to fill out the rest of the roster which I think is 12.
If you look at those names most are gonna come from Miami and the Bulls. Not to mention the international players. I think the Celtics have 1 international they will definitely play in 2012. He is a rookie center if I am not mistaken.

Mamba will be 34 by the time the London Olympics come around.
I have no doubt that Kobe will still be playing high quality basketball at that age it's just I would prefer him to focus more on his NBA legacy.

By then he'll probably be trying to pass Michael Jordan up in Championships or maybe even passing Robert Horry. LoL!

Nonetheless , Kobe was all over these FIBA ads this past tourney.

I have a good feeling Kobe will end up playing.. especially if the Lakers end up winning the championship that year he's going to be one of the few players who have won both in a year...

Do I think he should? No

But knowing Kobe and his competitive drive there's a good chance he will..

he will be 34 by then though so maybe he'll know by then that he needs to rest himself up
