Maybe we could sign him to be our future point guard, since fisher will retire soon and we will need a point guard for the future and he is a pretty good shooter. Your thoughts?

Fisher is here for 3 more years, Blake is here for 4 years. Roster is set. Most college players never become what they were in college. I see him as one of the next ones to fade into college basketball history and fade away from our memories except around camp time.

Fisher might be around for 3 more years but his role on the Lakers is going to get less and less each year. And Blake will more than likely be a starter over the next 3 years. But it would be wise for the Lakers to continue to look at the future of their backcourt.

The prototypical PG in the triangle offense should make good decisions and knock down open perimeter shots. That is why I think Scheyer would be a good fit for the Lakers.

By the way, Scheyer is one of those players that will continue to develop and get better. He has a very high basketball IQ and craftiness about him. Besides he can really shoot the heck out of the ball too. Scheyer just needs to be given an opportunity somewhere. So what would the Lakers have to lose by seeing what this kid can do?

i love Scheyers game... Don't understand why he wasn't drafted... He has size (6'5"), range, high IQ & is a gym rat... Not the best defensive player but has a shot at being a journeyman... I like his game...

Yes, yes, yes. I was hoping we would draft him in the second round, I was pissed to learn Miami was going to sign him. He has great leadership qualities, he's a smart player, and he's a winner. He may not play much, but he's worth a look. Absolutely.

That should tell you something. Teams would rather take a chance on a 6'11 19 year old kid from Bosnia who hasn't played basketball for more than a year than Scheyer.

(By the way I made that kid up, but that's what happens).
