Explain the Kobe hatred

Post#1 » by telekenisis24 » Sun Sep 19, 2010 5:20 pm

What's the Hate for??

Simple question, long answer? i guess.

I read posters of non Laker fans and find different reasons for the haters to hate.. Almost like it burns deep inside them. ..Also Throughout Kobe career i remember media and fans always talking ish..We've seen and heard Different reasons as Laker fans, from the beginning of his career, to the present where people make it sound like Kobe is on his last legs and can't jump .Is there a clear reason why? Is it just hopeful hate? Because he stomped on all the league? Titles? Because of his greatness as a player.?

As Laker fans can you explain why Kobe has always been disliked?

I don't recall another player disliked quite like Kobe. Maybe you guys can drop some knowledge. Thanks.

You don't hate people that suck, do you ? You hate those who are better than you, than your favourite player etc.

Completely, and i agree to that as part of the reason (maybe the whole reason), but Jordan is considered by all/majority as the G.O.A.T and seemed liked by the masses during his young days and while winning his 6.. .

Kobe at 32 is the best in the league and the haters can't understand why he's still playing at an elite level and those 5 rings don't hurt either

well....It is what it is.

I'm not a huge Kobe fan for my own personal reasons. But I'm a die hard Laker fan and I respect the hell out of his game.

But in general, people is always going to hate whoever that hate and love whoever they love.

Let me drop some real knowledge on it and it has nothing to do with Kobe but the person themselves.

They hate because they're weak minded individuals.

They hate because they can't focus they're time and efforts on something worthwhile.

They hate because they lack confidence in themselves.

They hate because they've never in their lives exerted any type of will to do well, these types of people think things are just "handed' to guys who put in work.

Think about it, a hater's life and Kobe's life are two different parallel's. Do you realize how much mental strain you have to put yourself through to " hate" on someone ?

Not one hater on these boards has ever come across Kobe in real life, so they don't know him on that level. A hater is mentally twisted, and if he's hating on a guy he's never met guess how much he's hating on a guy he knows in real life ?

I don't think it's necessarily a Kobe hate thing. Everybody chooses a villian to hate.

I could not STAND Vlade back in the early 00's. I did not hate him because i lacked confidence in my self or anything! lol...I just hated him cuz he was a flopper. Same way I cannot stand Manu. Well, I do not "hate" them. They just get on my nerves!! lol

Oh I agree dub, I get the gist of hating a particular athlete just for the sake of gamesmanship. But some of these guys have mental problems and it seeps through in their postings on Kobe. Hell I've dislike certain players in my time, but I don't sink my energy into such displays as having sigs that prompt the very sentiment they profess. Or making a reference to it in every posting or bringing every post back to the subject of the person.

You can start a thread about Kobe and like rats they come running to the poison, they're no different than a crack or meth head.......addicted.

IMO it's just automatic that you'll dislike the player who's torching your team night in and night out. But on the second that that player goes to your team, you'll love the player right away.

But HATING the person is a completely different scenario. :dontknow:

By this reasoning (bolded section) would it be that the vast majority of haters feel threatened by Kobes status, Infinity for Hard work and potential to surpass their Greatest O.A.T in the ladder of the greats? Could that be the reasoning behind a constant diet and so much of absurd hate we've become accustomed to as fans of Kobes game and the Lakers.

every west team fan had their reasons for hate kobe
east team fans got that too but they are only getting tormented two times a year so they are enjoying it
but for west it becomes yearly 3-4 times and come playoff time more torment
from what i saw portland(they got 65 reasons, one wcf game 7 adventure)spurs(possible 3 more titles gone) and utah(yearly annual thing) fans hates him most.
besides than his game like you guys said everybody s feeling little insecure about where he is going with his career-after 5th ring even mj s son feeled insecured
to be honest i dont think he ll be greatest player ever but i think he ll easily become player with greatest career of all time(in modern ages),and dont you think thats enough reason to hate him?

people hate Kobe, and then use his rape case as an easy scapegoat instead of giving their real reasons.

He's better than their team.

Kobe comes off as pompous and thats probably because he is.
Kobe feuded with the always loved by fans Shaq but he had legit gripe by that point to a degree.
Kobe is cocky but thats just a personality people don't like.
Kobe is one of the best and people love to disagree.
Kobe is selfish but that selfishness is his desire to be the best most likely which makes him want to win, which makeshim make his team better.

Besides the obvious rape case that is an easy out.

DEEP spitting true knowledge, glad to see you before we shred this season & board. Haters going to act like they ain't going to miss Kobe when he retires. Screw the buzzer beaters / circus shots / clutch shots Kobe is fun to watch for me his footwork in particular is surgical.
