man gb is going crazy with this sh.t,i dont think it ll end well i just hope that noone in our board gets banned for this arguement over there.
and about kobe vs lebron in 1 on 1 kobe explains it the best.
he s one of the greatest scorers of all time and this matchup would be one place where lebrons superior all around game doesnt help him.
kobe s better scorer&man to man defender while lebron s better athlete&help defender so its kinda pointing the obvious for kobe in that video but haters in gb are, well just haters so no need to try for having a logical conversation with them.

I'd rather see Kobe vs Wade because they're built similar since they both play SG.

I think LJ would have the more explosive finish. Kobe might be better shooter and finisher. LJ might be better if he did a cross over and broke Kobe off and went in for a power dunk. Kobe at this stage is just not as fast if all was even.

Kobe doesn't have to be as fast, because he wouldn't crowd Lebron on D. And you forget Kobe has a much better post game.
I also don't see too many power dunks in a one-on-one game, but maybe that's just me.

i was posting on the general board and the majority posters proved they have never played 1v1.
kobe would eat his food, if kobe gets 1st ball, lebron might not get the opporunity to score.

i hate lebron, but i think he would win.
1 on 1 has less to do with skill when your opponent has 50 pounds on you and he is also taller, faster, stronger, and can jump higher than you.

If Lebron were to win, positive it would be entirely due to Kobe's inferior physical athleticism. At least at this point of his career.
Rewind back the clock to Kobe at 25 years of age to even it up, and Kobe definitelt. Kobe's ability to finish at the rim was a lot greater back then than it is today.

Kobe. Although you give Lebron another player to pick and roll or something and Lebron would just leap to the rim.

I think Kobe would lose to Wade. It's a shame Wade is part of the Tripartite because I really enjoyed watching him play.

Didn't Pau and Kobe play 1v1 and Pau gave up during last year's training camp?

When Kobe gets locked in one on one against a player its mighty tough to score.
Lebron lacks the trickery to get 11 points on Kobe before Kobe does. He will drive on Kobe for a couple of easy 1s early but Kobe will adapt easily.
Kobe on the offensive end is an entirely different story with the post ups, off the dribble or pull up Js.
I think Kobe will win too.

We had a few glimpses of Kobe posting up on Lebron James in early 2009 with his rainbow arcs and fallaway shots. Lebron hasn't shown any post moves at all. He couldn't even post up Derrick Fisher correctly. Also, judging from the Miami Heat televised training camp game on Friday, Lebron has a LONG way to go in terms of scoring in the post.
You cannot just use muscle and size to score everytime without good footwork and a reliable shot. Look at Dwight Howard and Kendrick Perkins. They're both strong and powerful centers, yet mediocre offensive players in the post. All their muscle and size won't be able to give them easy baskets every time. Look at Pau and KG, both tall but quite lanky in terms of size and weight---yet they can score easily with their back to the basket.
So this BS of Lebron can just back down Kobe bryant for easy baskets is just plain ludicrous. It takes much more than length and size, especially when the defender is no longer afraid of referees bailing out Lebron.
The best way for Lebron to win a 1on1 against Kobe is to go to his hard drives to the basket and just hope he can out muscle Kobe. However, we all know that Kobe is an elite defender one -on-one when he wants to be and has pretty fast hands for swatting the ball away.
So I don't know. I take Kobe for now. It's close.

If they played one on one to a game of 16 i would predict the final score would be 16-9 in favor of Kobe. If there is anyone out there who thinks LePippen can beat Kobe in a one on one they need to be checked into a mental institution. Kobe is the best one on one player ever, behind MJ of course. LePippen isn't a one on one player, period. Kobe hit it on the head when he said LePippen is more along the lines of a Magic Johnson where hes more of a team player and likes getting others involved. LePippen doesn't really have a great jumper or terrific handle, at least not on the level of Kobe. Kobe's got the one on one D, the jumper, the handle, the finesse, the athletic ability, and the overall better one on one game. I agree with the poster above that the better question would be Kobe vs Wade (Id still pick Kobe). If anyone is getting upset over this its just all the new Miami and LePippen fanboys in south beach. Anyone with a half a brain and the slightest knowledge of the game knows Kobe would beat him one on one. And its like another poster said, whats Kobe supposed to say, no i cant beat LePippen hes too good? C'mon man. All this is coming from someone who thinks Kobe is overrated, well at least when hes compared to MJ. I get irritated beyond belief when people try to put Kobe in the same category as MJ. I agree hes the closest thing to MJ we've seen yet, but even with that hes still not holding MJ's jock strap. MJ is in a league of his own. Kobe's still the best one on one player in the NBA though and IMHO he's still the best overall player as well. If i had one season and had to build around Kobe or LePippen, or anyone for that matter, I'm going with Kobe (obviously if its long term i go with LePippen just because hes 25 and Kobe's 31). The guy is an assassin, point blank period. Im actually kind of shocked some of you guys think its close, i just don't see it, and this is coming from a die hard C's fan for the past 17 years or so. Kobe would "beat him in his sleep"
Oh and just a little PS...I look forward to a rematch in the Finals this year, this time you guys wont be so lucky

Now that would be interesting.
Can Kobe still keep up with Wade 1 on 1?

The Lakers should add that event to the ASW. It would be much more interesting than H.O.R.S.E.

It doesnt matter on size. Dirk says Nash would kill him when they played 1 on 1 in the gym.
I agree if Kobe got the ball 1st Lebron would never see get a possesion. On the other hand LeBron currently has no post up game its very weak. So on the box Kobe would give him fits. Kobe on defense steals galore for Kobe. LeBron's ball handling is extremely average. He travels a lot its never called out. LeBron's lack of fundamentals would eventually be exploited by Kobe in a 1 on 1 match.
Finally, I am sure Kobe has educated himself on LeBron's tendencies more than any other NBA player. Do you honestly think LeBron has studied up on Kobe as much. In Short NO. In fact in a ESPN write up I read once that LeBron was chastised on several occasions for not taking team film sessions seriously. He admittedly confessed not watching film as much as he should to the coaching staff which got him in a lot of trouble with Coach Brown.
Final Score
Kobe - 23
Lebron - 10
