Dirk? No way. Not even on his own team is he the most clutch. Jason Terry is clutch as hell.

Kobe
Wade
Nash
Pierce
Terry*
DWill

*Terry's just a nut up clutch shooter I realize he's not at the level of the others, but he's a baller.

I'm guessing it's active players, otherwise that list truly sucks. Actually it sucks anyway since they moved players out of position.

PG: I can see the Nash pick. Fisher, while clutch as a shot maker, doesn't tend to do much else. Nash tends to make excellent decisions down the stretch and has a knack for hitting big shots as well.

SG: Kobe's a good selection. I can't think of anyone else in the ball-park outside of Wade, and while he's a great late-game performer, Kobe's done it for much longer.

SF: I've seen him hit a ton of game-winning shots, which have been really great looks created by his teammates. I can't think of anyone better though. He makes the shots he gets, so assisted or not, there's no one better at his position.

PF: I don't know who I'd go with here. Duncan isn't all that clutch, to be perfectly honest. He's had some huge performances, but I did a project a while ago where I looked at players numbers in the last 5 minutes (playoffs only) and his weren't too hot (Ginobili's were stellar though). I don't consider Dirk particularly clutch either. I guess it probably goes to Duncan by default because who else is there?

C: Well, not Dirk since he's not a center. Definitely not D12. Yao might be clutch if he weren't injured by the 4th. Ilgauskas? :x

BTW, I don't like how they define "clutch" as 24 seconds left. Those are game-winning opportunities and without proper context don't really tell you much.

I think it's better to see what a player does in the final 5 minutes of close games, preferably in the post-season where the stakes are the highest. So yeah, I did some research on that subject a while ago, and here are the results when comparing Kobe, LeBron, Wade, and Ginobili: viewtopic.php?f=64&t=943463

It doesn't include this year, but at a guess, Kobe's numbers probably get slightly worse. This wasn't a good "clutch" year for Kobe, IMO.

It'd be interesting to do the same for some of the bigs in the league, but that's a lot of damn work.

My problem with adding Duncan in there is that he's a terrible FT shooter.

Yao edges him in all clutch categories except for mobility and rebounding when healthy. Yao goes for the boards flat footed and has a tendency to let little guys hustle him out of the ball.

Otherwise he's an excellent FT shooter and his post game is amazing.
