can't complain with his awarding. Just a bit more assertion in defense and he'll be complete

No contest really. He has a legit shot at MVP this season.

Nice... well deserved. He knew coming into the season that he'd have to do the heavy lifting for a while, and he's responded to the challenge in a big way.

So has Odom, for that matter.

He just seems effortless so far this season more than anything. Even playing against Yao and Truck Hayes he's let the game come to him and taken guys off the dribble as well as he can and that jumper is just so sweet.

that jumper has been money all season, he's unstoppable.

If he puts up 25 PTS, 10 REB, 5 AST, 2 BLK, 2 TOV all season, which is (Please Use More Appropriate Word), he's got my vote for MVP.

Which essentially means nothing because I don't get a vote. :(

(I'll preface this with: yes, it's only been 3 games.) I know Kobe's "100%" but is this starting to feel like Pau's team? Just a little?

MVP talk? He had a tremendous first week, ya, but lets not get ahead of ourselves here. That kind of optimism is dangerous thinking.

Well here's some perspective:

Pau's been the most consistent player on a team that's gone to 3 straight finals and his role appears to be growing.

Well, I don't seriously believe he'll win an MVP -- ever -- but it's fun to think about. ;)

General board is going crazy over Pau being the Lakers real MVP. I really don't have a take on it because I give Kobe and Pau equal credit to our success but if Pau is our MVP then I feel really good about this season. Don't forget that Bynum was averaging 20/10 when Pau was out to start the season last year so I expect Pau's number to go down once Drew returns.

Now that we have options to hold Kobe down to 32 mpg (Barnes, Brown) I can pretty much see Gasol having a chance at MVP if he averages close to 38 MPG and gets the touches he needs.

J we also have an option to bring down Gasol's minutes. I would really like to see Gasol and Odom's minutes go down to at least 34 a game once Drew is back.
