I'm so glad that the Lakers didn't KG...

Man, there was a time when I really wanted Kevin Garnett to be a Laker. But he has really shown his true colors the past few years... and now with him calling Charlie Villenueva a "Cancer Patient" during their game last night really makes me dislike him even more.

We'd be rooting for him if he was a Laker.

kg was my fav non laker player till he joined celtics,if you really watched him closely during his career in minny y know he is basically the same guy only difference is he is getting a lot of attention for last 3 years.
i mean i know i motivated myself by saying 'come on dont be upset by this failures this means nothing, coz kg is coming to lakers most intense&best players of the 00s are going to play together and we are going to have another dynasty' during dark years.
we all know how kg was,and we wanted him badly.i dont like him particularly anymore but that doesnt mean we have to be hypocrite, this is how kg is,good or bad the guy does this on the court and was doing this while we were hoping he would come here.
i m not defending what he said but thats how kg is.

if we got kg, we would not have "im always injured bynum".
How's this for an almost unbelievable Laker trivia: The Lakers will miss the playoffs this year for the 3rd time since 1976.
Just 3 times in almost 40 years!!!!

I don't care what team KG is on, Lakers or otherwise. With a comment like that, I don't root for him, or even respect him. I genuinely hope the league fines him for this. This is absolutely inappropriate.

Agreed. Shaq made a lot of bad comments even during the 3-peat days that I really didn't like. Sometimes guys just go over the top, and this was one of those times.

It would have been interesting to have KG though. We definitely would have won in 08, and had great shots in 09 and 10 as well. Keep in mind that we would still have Marc Gasol as well.

I used to admire his thirst to win but that was before i knew how he is on court since he wasn't really in the spotlight in minny but now as a celtics.. shessh.. Even if he was a laker and said that.. i would still boo him.

I think if he was with the Lakers, he wouldn't be the type of person he is now. It seems like they encourage this kind of behavior in Boston.

The few experiences I've had with folks from Boston was that they were all jackasses. And I'm guessing that similar behavior stems from the bottom of the pit to the top.

I'd root for the Lakers but for not KG! He's a good player and all but always picking on the little guy and those comments he made last night make it really hard to stand behind him.

well everything worked out for the best, honestly if we had gotten KG we still would've lost, the team would've been gutted and it would've been Kobe/KG and scrubs.

KG wouldve helped our team big time. KG struggled to win in Minny because he didnt have a supporting cast, except i think for 1 yr when he had cassell and that choking dude sprewell. we woulda potentially had Kobe, KG, Marc, Fish?, and with Kwame coming off the books.. maybe a solid 3. i prefer what we have right now cuz pau is much younger than kg. the comments were way out of line if they were said to him..trash talk about someones game no matter how severe, is passable, but cuz of how someone looks, added to the fact that it affects so many peoples lives.. its just wrong.
seems as though kg's denying the comments and rather said " you are cancerous to your team and to our league".. uhh i find it hard to imagine him saying that on the court. lol during a free throw.. ehh charlie u know what? u are cancerous to your team and to our league! nahh kg, is this the best u can do?

Only way he'd been a Laker was if your team remained the Minneapolis Lakers. Seriously.
I might be a Wisconsin Badger fan but I live in Minnesota closely following KG during his years here. McHale may have worked for Twolves but has strong ties with Boston thus Lakers are forever his nemisis. McHale drafted KG and made him his player project for 12 years. When it became evident that KG would never win a ring in Minny he did both KG and Boston favors--he fleeced Minny as if we were his much hated rival the Lakers. To this day McHale contends that his decision was financially motivated and that it would benefit Minny. The news in 2007 was 'KG had been traded to the Celts for a pot of gold' BUT here in Minny we are discovering it might be merely fools gold.
Anyway, had LA gotten KG you'd think there'd be no need for Pau Gasol and the Lakers would have lost hella much more than Bynum.

Ahem... Shaq somehow seems more humbled in Boston then he ever was in LA.
KG is a monster athletic forward but Pau has developed into his own. IMO KG>Pau in athleticism, handles and rebounding (when he wants to) but Pau > KG shooting in low block and moving the ball effortlessly. You really can't go wrong with either when paired with Kobe.

Tremendous difference in trade value at that time however. Lakers got Pau for nothin. KG was gotten for multiple players, cash and first round picks. The KG trade was equivalent to 7-for-one trade and yep Minny still came up losers.

He kind of has to be "humbled" now. He's on the wrong side of 30 and one of his last shots at a title.

He "seemed" just as humbled when he joined the Lakers, Heat, Suns, and Cavs. Wait until he leaves... he'll tell you how he really feels. ;)

It's only a matter of time before he declares Rondo the best player in the league, then calls him a scrub.

Shaq wrote:"I like that they play together and nobody really worries about shots, " O'Neal was quoted in the New Orleans Times Picayune. "When I was with Cleveland, guys who couldn't even play were worried about shots. Why was Mo [Williams] taking 15 shots, and I'm only taking four? If LeBron takes 20 shots, that's cool. So I said, let me get with a good team for the last two years."

While it's funny and true that Mo does suck in the playoffs, Shaq can't even make layups at this point (he missed like 4 point blank shots against the Heat) so it's not like he should be overly critical.
