3-pt Shooting

Here are the numbers so far:
Odom 8/10 (80%)
Brown 7/12 (58.3%)
Fisher 6/10 (60%)
Blake 8/17 (47%)
Bryant 9/23 (39%)
Artest 9/25 (36%)
Barnes 4/12 (33%)
Vujacic 1/2 (50%)
=52/111 (46.8%)
Now I know that won't continue to be this high for the season, but it's nice to know that the Lakers are making their 3s for the most part. Odom has been on fire from downtown. I expect Odom's, Brown's, Fisher's, Blake's, Bryant's, Artest's and Vujacic's percentages to go down, while I see Barne's staying in that range.

Yeah ! Our 3-pt shooting, even against average teams, is looking pretty balanced and good. Definitely much more improved than in the last 2 seasons, imho. We'll see how consistent they'll keep it. But knowing that we have 2 big threats inside with Pau and Bynum, with Odom going forwards and backwards, with Kobe drawing double-teams, we'll see lots of open 3-pointers this season, even against great "D" teams like Boston, SA, Orlando etc. And with our Renegates, one or two of them can easily go lights out and make the opponents pay for crowding the paint.

Hence him saying it'd go down.
I expect Kobe's 3PT% to be higher than his career average this year - possibly 36-37%? I'd like to see him hit 40% a season by the time he retires.
Everyone else outside of Barnes will probably drop. I think Blake has a 40% season in him this year though.

Live by the three or Die by the three.
Our bread and butter is the inside/outside game.
When we get our Bigs the ball everything runs smoothly.
Pounding the paint is our main strength , but when the trey ball is sinking it's a huge incentive.

Word. I've been saying that all summer. Teams are going start polishing up on zone because of the HEAT this year. My argument always have been this year the Laker better have some zone busters on the roster.
With our shooting going so well, I expect teams won't try it on us like in the past.
