-=-=-=-=-> Kobe Bryant Vs. Brandon Roy <-=-=-=-=-Well, you don’t need too much introduction for this matchup. It’s Kobe Bryant vs one of the most “unguardable guards” in the league today. How does it sound ? Hmm ?… Even if Kobe’s not there yet in terms of athletic ability, he’ll get out there and have fun playing against a great player, as he usually does. I’m not sure about the defensive part, ‘cause Kobe is not the one to guard Roy, but offensively, both players will take care of it. Our weakside defense is gonna be tested a lot with Roy cutting or shooting threes and dishing it to Aldridge after pick’n rolls or double teams. Kobe’s gonna need some help from Artest and Pau not to allow Roy to penetrate into the paint and cut our defense. Kobe ? Kobe, hopefully will do the same job he’s been doing recently, playing a-la Magic, drawing attention and double teams and the rest is history. Definitely a great matchup. How to beat the Trail-Blazers :• Don’t allow their supporting cast to get hot. Put a body on Camby and dominate the glass.
• Use weakside pick’n rolls against their at times vulnerable defense.
• Pau and Kobe in the post usually a success.
Go Lakers !!!
Discuss…I've decided to bring back some old school making this game thread.

Hot mama. This is the sexiest game thread yet, Sashalex.
Love the analysis, but what I loved more is the season averages for each player letting us know how everyone is coming along early thus far. Great stuff, man.

let artest take another shot at roy, and let the dynamic duo (pau/odom) do the rest.
im sure steve blake can call a few plays out for us while on the court since he might know a little bit of their system

Hot mama? There are no hot mamas on the GT. Sashalex...wazzup with that? lol
I agree i like the season averages. Whenever we play a team i'm always curious to know how their key players are coming along... This is going to be a damn good game. Its always good to see the likes of BRoy - very professional brotha. I wish the league had for of guys like that (Ray, Roy, Fisher, Battier, etc...).
Note: I would have liked to see Bynum against this fairly good rebounding team. I'm beginning to wonder what to do with him come December. The "Dynamic Duo" is seriously balling right now.
GO LAKERS!!

Roy is obviously someone we have to look out for but watch out for Batum as well he has a good 3pt shot and is very active on the offensive glass, there front court isn't that great Aldridge is a shooting big man so LO should be able to hold his own and Camby isn't an offensive threat, we need the bench to step up and we got this game GO LAKERS!!

We have to establish some sort of defensive rhythm against the Blazers early. The sub-par defense we've been playing lately won't cut it. We got killed on the boards last game, the Blazers are a good rebounding team so we have to win that battle.
Portland's lack of interior depth will be their weakness, we have to exploit that.
Nice GT SashAlex.

I agree I love this format. Thought I would add somemore info on Portland that you may or may not know. Injuries are still a huge concern up here. You should know about Greg and Joel and now add Rudy to that list with a bad back. He hasn't played the last two games and probably out for this one. Camby was fighting a migraine yesterday but did play against the Raps but remains to be seen what he will have in the tank on a back to back.
The lack of bigs has forced us to play a lot more zone which has really hurt on the boards. I don't see that changing tonight plus so far teams have not been able to take advantage of that from the 3pt line. My biggest concern for the game isn't Kobe, he will get his like usual, but Odom. I see him having a huge game. Aldridge must stay out of foul trouble but that is something he hasn't done so far. He leds the league in personal fouls.
Overall we just do not play well in LA and I don't think we have enough firepower to make this game as competive as I would like. Though this is why we play the games anything could happen.

Great GT Sash! You learned from the master.

Haha.
And again, this game is on TV here in Canada. I love this Rogers Sportsnet One channel.

Very nice GT Sasha

This will be a great test in this young season. Defense & rebounding will be the key. Camby is not a Center that likes to rough house so that should bode well for Pau. This should be a good one.

Toughest opponent yet, by far. Lakers need to bring their A game tonight, not whatever they brought against the Raptors.
