Shannon Brown will be the next Ariza?

Brown is coming off a season-high, 21-point performance in a win against the Bulls, just two nights ago. He is currently averaging 11.8 (PPG), 2.2 (RPG), 1.1 (APG). For a player who was barely playing in the playoffs last season, Brown is really working for his new $4.6 million contract.

The only thing that could go wrong with Brown, is if he decides to go the same route as former Laker Trevor Ariza.

Ariza is playing for the surprisingly successful New Orleans Hornets, averaging 10.6 (PPG), 5.2 (RPG), 2.6 (APG), but every Laker fan knows Ariza regrets making the decision to leave the NBA reigning champions for more money.

When measuring whether you are in the right place or not in professional sports, the number one priority should be happiness, followed by success and lastly money.

For Brown, I’d say the Lakers satisfy him in all three categories, and for heavens sake, why would someone ever want to leave the best NBA city in the world?

Link: REMOVED.

Saw the link was posted on the other forum and I thought i'll share it here too.

Ariza was one of my favorite players on Lakers, he left after the Lakers won the ring. I like Jordan Farmar too, and he's gone, so now I'm liking Shannon Brown, will he be the next to be gone?

If he can continue to shoot well from 3, I would keep him for 4-5 mil... if he can continue his current play or even get better then he's as good as any backup SG we would be able to afford anyway... Sasha is done as a Laker after this year anyway

As a long time fan you never... or you shouldn't connect yourself to the player, connect yourself to the team. Players come and go but the team stays, if he decided to leave after this season then he leaves. It's as simple as that, by the way Trevor isn't the first NBA player to make a wrong choice and he certainly won't be the last.

That said something isn't right about this topic and the OP, so me being me I like to expose things. First off this poster has NEVER posted here before, secondly he posted an article link to a page that isn't even a know site it's more of a blog.

Next up information in the piece is totally off base like this here....

he is married to a model

This is a damn lie, he isn't married nor was he ever married. He's suppose to be engaged to Monica, last time I noticed she was an R&B singer not a model.

Straight up dude is a fraud blog writer who posted this $@*% here to work on his next story.

I didnt write this piece of work :o If I were the writer and I will post my links and articles all around the forum as you suggested to promote my blog :o

I will remove the link if you are not happy with it.

I am sorry, I am not a lakers fan, I just like Ariza, Farmar, and Brown. That's it.

I am sorry for any inconvenience I have caused here.

Please lock the topic then.

Last but not least, my english is not good enough to write an article

The topic isn't **** though..

Right now, he's our new Trevor Ariza. Came in as a guy I (and I would guess most people) thought could help us with some defense and highlight dunks, but now has become a great shooter on our team who has and can hopefully continue helping us in the playoffs. I just hope for all parties involved that he doesn't become the new Ariza by thinking he's an all-star and leaving LA to become a top option on a lesser team.

OP the only reason you should like Farmar is if you are gay.
the fact that my nephew is gay was the only thing that kept me from kicking his butt because he was so fascinated by Farmar.
...and not that there is anything wrong with being gay.

Tell that to Cavs fans.

Shannon Brown is the next Shannon Brown, in my opinion. I like the dude but I highly believe he's gonna leave for a bigger contract.

Words of wisdom.

Last time i checked, he was offered more money and he turned it down. Hasn't he proven that money is not all that matters to him?

...so this talk about him leaving for the money is pure boo boo...

And i agree that Shannon Brown is the next Shannon Brown. That is all and nothing more.

Lol @ Snaq... I remember when we used to discuss if FARMAR was the next Jason Kidd.... woooowww how things change. Cant blame anyone who thought he had serious potential. I mean i thought he did too :nonono: but anyone that likes Farmar as a player right now has got something else in mind... maybe its the ears they like. Farmar is garbage...

Ariza and his agent didn't think that the MLE of $5 MIL was enough and tried to play hardball with the Lakers by entertaining offers from other teams.

At this point, the Lakers had no choice but to look elsewhere and scored Artest. After the Lakers got Ron, Ariza was forced to settle for THE EXACT SAME AMOUNT he would've gotten to stay on the Lakers, from the Rockets.

Ariza and his agent completely blew it.

Shannon Brown is not as dumb as Trevor. He'll get a nice deal from the Lakers with Sasha coming off the books next year. He'll take it.

Barnes is gonna get a raise too.

If both Matt Barnes and Shannon continue at the same clip they are now, i think Barnes is the more likely to leave..they will both opt out, but i think the lakers re-up Shannon at the full MLE, if it still exists following the new CBA..Matt will be looking for a 2yr-10mil or a 3yr-15mil deal, which unfortunately is too steep considering Walton will still have 2 fully guaranteed yrs remaining on his deal..if the CBA remains the same and we keep both at a reasonable price, its going to be a very interesting FA period, with a lot of quality defensive bigs i see us having major interest in..some that come to mind that we might be able to get in P&G include; Shelden Williams, Josh McRoberts, DeAndre Jordan, Kris Humphries, Troy Murphy, Joel Pryzbilla, Samuel Dalembert, Reggie Evans..

Nah, we gotta keep this team intact (minus Sasha and Luke) for as long as possible!!!

He had a chance to walk this summer and start for the Bulls. He said he stayed because the chance for a three-peat was "something special." I think he also knows that the Lakers want to limit Kobe's minutes for the post season if at all possible, so that means more minutes for Brown.

Lakers need to step up and offer him one of those Luke Walton deals. 5 years and 30 million or so. If not, SB is going to make the money and will leave so fast. I would make a trade or release Sasha or Walton so fast to keep Brown in LA for a long time. He is young and getting better all the time. He might be the player to step into Kobe's shoes one day.

Lakers are winning championships, but they need to realize that they are getting older all the time and young players need to be held onto.

They have completely different body types and are different players. We have Ebanks on the bench and you picked Shannon for your Ariza comparison?
