Artest Admits He Can't Understand L.A.'s Triangle Offense

ESPN.com's Rick Reilly recently spent an extended period of time with Lakers forward Ron Artest.
In addition to a number of eye-popping comments, Artest admitted that he doesn't understand L.A.'s triangle offense.
"See, I can't really understand the Triangle [offense]," Artest said.
"There's 1,000 plays in the Triangle. It's such a challenge. I get so frustrated about it, I have to call my psychiatrist. So I just stay in my one spot in the corner. If I leave my spot, I get yelled at. Phil [Jackson's] gonna say, 'What are you doing over there?!?' So I just don't move."
Is anything going to change from him, he hasn't been scoring very much and whats gonna happen to him?

All he NEEDS to do on offense is stand in the corner and hit an ocasional wide open shot... Yeah it'd be great if he could figure out how to run screen and rolls and post up within the constructs of the Tri, but it's not really necessary...
Ron Ron just needs to figure out he ain't here for his offense.
And stop tossing up ill-advised shots. Let's face it... Just about any time he's shooting from outside, it's ill-advised.
I don't care if he misses all his (5-6) shots, as long as his defensive assignment is missing all his too...

As a Minnesota fan, a team that is implementing a triangle-like offense, this was not good to hear. We are loaded with young guys, I hope all are more receptive to the offense than Ron-Ron.
As an NBA fan, this made me laugh. Now when I watch the Lake Show I am just going to look for Artest chilling in his corner confused, haha
Can't really make fun though, clearly the Lakers know how to win, even if that means having Ron twiddling his thumbs in the corner.

takes two years for lots of guys, especially when they've been running different schemes for years in the league. As long as he's trying I'll wait till middle of next year to see how he figures it out.
Makes me really glad for the relative genius of Pau and Blake

It's easy Ron. You sit there in the paint, wait for cup of beer pass, then shoot a wide open punch

Lakers need to rehire Rodman to coach Artest.
