Drastic trade in the making that will completely change the makeup of Orlando. Are They gonna get better or worse?

I would think they will be better but how are they gonna find PT for Richardson, Arenas, Nelson, and Redick. But the Magic now probably have the deepest backcourt in the league.

Suns definitely get worse, the Magic still are in the same gear more so even worse that they get rid of Gortat. Now they have no back up big for Dwight. The Magic problem is that they have no real power forward playing next to Dwight, and no Turk is no real 4. They keep thinking about scoring, yeah Arenas will give them some what of a better closer than Carter but the real problem for them is the 4 spot.

Easily better. I love this. Anything to F over LeBron and the Heat. Haha.

We don't care about what trades go on in the east, now if it were a west opponent then there's something to discuss that's relevant to us here.

the real question is: is one basketball enough for the magic? they have like 4 players now that won't be effective without the ball. this trade would tremendously improve magic's spacing on offense though.

I think this topic should be moved into the "Around the NBA thread".

Nonetheless, Big Change for Orlando.
Much needed but is it really going to work?

If they kept Gortat I think it would be okay but now who in the hell are going to be their bigs beside Dwight and Bass?

Hedo coming back to the Magic is interesting but is he gonna be the same as he was in 2009?
J Richardson is waaay more consistent than Vince Carter. But not too sure I would give up Pietrus?

Rashard has been a bum for Orlando this season so far.
Rashard LewRICH for sure. LoL
SO flipping him for Gilbert is fair for both sides.

Phoenix might be the true winners in this deal.

You got me before the edit ! But didn't realize the Suns were involved. But hell in reality it still has no bearing on what we have to do for our season, so I stand by my original stance. I'm the type of guy that you should just worry about your own......do you and everything else will take care of it self.

It's like worrying about somebody else's kid instead of your own.....

Second Post:

I seriously think Otis Smith might be one of the worst G.M's in the league .

Why in the hell isn't he on the phone with the Denver Nuggets??????????

If he is willing to dump his entire team besides Dwight and Jameer to a bunch of mediocre players he could of probably landed Melo.

A package of Vince Carter, Pietrus, Gortat, and Rashard for Melo is much more appealing than a package of Gallo, Chandler, Randolph and whatever bozos the Nets are offering.

Trust me Ty that deal won't make the Heat shiver one bit, they still lack a 4. Book it they won't make it to the conference final.

Awesome trade for the Magic. I'm ecstatic for them.

They unload Lewis, and upgrade their perimeter wings altogether. And we might actually get to see shades of the old Gilbert Arenas/Hibachi with this new change of scenery.

This trade pretty much makes official that the Suns are in rebuilding mode. The only long contract they got is Gortat. Pietrus has one yr player option left and Carters contrat can be bought out in the summer. Now lets see what happens to Nash.

Uh, don't you mean Boston?

Miami has zero answer for Dwight, plus with this new lineup of players potentially meshing well and feeding off of Howard, their inside-out game could work to their advantage.

They got to the finals with Hedo 2 yrs ago plus they add a scorer like Richardson and I guess Arenas is their sixth man now. Its not a total fail for Orlando Melo seems to be headed to the NY area anyway.

Interesting that the Wiz trade away a PG when Wall's out with injury...for a tweener who is grossly overpaid.

I know I'm in the minority, but I still think Arenas is one of the best scorers in the game. Hopefully Van Gundy makes him the main ball handler on offense, and I think he will, otherwise I don't see this trade making all that much sense since he isn't effective without the ball in his hands. Turkoglu is comfortable as hell in that system and they've made it to the Finals with him in a prominent role. Then you get Jason Richardson, an excellent three point shooter to sit in a corner and get fed by Howard when he gets double-teamed? That team is stacked.

Seems to be headed to NYC as that has been the talk for almost a year now.

Orlando should give it everything they got.
There willing to dump basically everyone on their team except their superstar Dwight and Denver could use these players .

Melo and Dwight would be a great duo that could become something really special.

Yeah we all know Melo has his sights on New York but if he would be teamed up with Dwight and they started winning alot of games it could end up in a "Disneyworld State of Mind"

HA. They ain't going anywhere anytime soon. Trust me, EG will suit up 8 players consistently night in night out if he had to if it meant surrounding their future with the right veterans to assist with his development.

GA hasn't been doing anything in DC but cashing in his checks. Somewhere someplace Arenas is celebrating his can off getting wind of this deal.
