After Phil Jackson

I know its early in the season to be talking about future Lakers coaches but with Phil saying about once a week how this is his final season. Who do you guys think will take his place? I myself think its gonna be Shaw I think he's going to ride out the last two or three seasons of this team as a contender and then go into rebuilding. A not so surprising but still kind of surprising replacement could be Krzyzewski but I doubt he'll want to take over a team thats slowly aging and going downhill.

will absolutely fail. hate to say it, but when you follow "THE MAN", bad things generally happen.

"Artest told Jackson that if he wants to coach him, coach him. Just stop embarrassing him in public."

A little less of this that's for sure...

The reason Phil is so successful is that he brings a solid system with him and sticks to it...

It's also why Pop is so effective...

Love Scott and Shaw but they don't bring much in the way of a system yet... They're both works in progress... There aren't too many coaches out there that have the pull and the resume to bring a system to a veteran team and get everyone to buy into it...

I honestly don't know who the next coach will be... If I could have anyone, I'd choose Pop but that ain't ever happening.

If we got Shaw or Scott, I think the only way it'd work is if we got back the rest of the coaching staff back, and Kobe baught into a Player/Coach role with Fish and maybe Walton... If I'm totally honest though, I don't think I can think of a worse player/coach than Kobe right now... Last season, maybe... This season, not so much...

If they go the Shaw/Scott route... I'd actually prefer Shaw, because I see either of them as an interim move designed to carry us through the rest of Kobe's playing career, and in that event, Shaw has more experience with the system Kobe has been playing in for most of her career.

That's Phil... It sounds like he was trying to Coach him... By appealing to what little pride he has left...

Artest spends more time embarassing himself publicly than Phil ever could and has been worthless this year... It's time for him to stop worrying about his public persona and start playing Lakers basketball

I agree with Artest not everyone can take that suff Phil dishes out. So if Ron wants to stand up for himself I am all for it. I would do the same. Business is Business. So keep that ish in house. The rest of the NBA pretty much goes by those rules. However, Phil has never done that.

One thing is for sure Phil has certainly got Ron's attention. Phil only wants to get in his head a bit. I am betting he did the same in your face rattling with Rodman.

Wow. Who will coach next season. If there is no lockout. Then it will have to be a good one. Shaw and Scott are good names. Are they the kind of name like in the vien of Phil and Pat. I would say no. Coach K??? Kobe will have a say in it I bet. He does not want some young guy changing his game after 15 years. Lakers need to get a new coach and try to get some ypung guns on this team next year.
