Hell Yeah Big Game ! You ripped it bro.

This is no doubt a statement game, the squad owes us one for that crap they put out on Christmas. The building will be jumping and there won't be no " late" arriving crowd. That's why I love this game being on Sunday.

Game wise we have to establish the interior. The Celtics will be eager to see how they fair with the Lakers front line. Celtic fans still are delusional to think they have a clear cut advantage.......they DON'T.

Shaq ain't the same as he use to be, I don't give a damn what Celtic fans or guys here think. Sure he'll be amped up in those early minutes, thing is he can't maintain that type of energy you need for even 30 minutes now. Next they will point to Kendra Perkins as their savior, he's been OK since coming back but dude just came off 8 months of rehab from surgery. Celtic fans and their media was bust'in nuts all over his recent play.........hello it's called adrenaline. He was bound to have it the first few games.

Now perception meets reality, Sunday will be reality. Looking for Drew to bust his ass and Shaq's too.And for as much as we bust Pau's butt here he does hold his own against "Private Parts" touching KG.

The key to this game will be really simple...........the benches.

Who ever bench get's a rhythm and can maintain it will help their team win. Bottom line is the Celtics acquired all this so called size to combat the Lakers plain and simple because their rebounding sucked and still does. Celtic fan will claim it's because they care more about getting back in transition. Well we get back in transition too and still rank 3rd overall with a 3.6 diff in rebounding.

Rebounding, the bench and protecting the ball is where this game will be won.....book it.

Hopefully we get a good basketball game, this season has been marred in low quality games. There have been a few gems. Hopefully tomorrow lives up to the hype. No more injuries. Lets ball.

Its time for our bigs to stop being nice guys and start kickin some ***. Not sure if you guys read this article last week.

Lakers assistant coach Brian Shaw wants to see more 'mean' from Lakers

"Our team has a lot of nice guys on it so [opposing] guys who are driving into the lane, they feel comfortable getting in there in the paint, they lay it up, they get fouled, they make the basket and have an opportunity to make a three-point play instead of just giving a hard foul and putting the guy on his back. Nothing dirty, but just a hard play to make him think about coming back in there again.

"We have a couple of ruthless guys on the team but we also have a lot of very nice guys too. When your big guys are your nice guys, then it makes it tough sometimes."

Shaw also doesn't like how the Lakers sometimes fail to bounce back after a loss.

Really?! Game of the regular season for you guys? This is OUR game of the season because it's in your house. I would think your game of the season is when LA comes to Boston. I think we learn more about our teams when they play in an adverse environment....

And if you lose you and your cronies will just chalk it up to being just "another" game...........yeah we know the drill. Miss me with that garbage. It's a big game for both teams, not just the Celtics. We want to keep the thought established that they can't win here when it will count.

For the past couple years, everytime these two teams have clashed, it's been hard fought. There's plenty of ups and downs with both teams, but I've always enjoyed these games.

Against Lebron, the Lakers seem to roll over and take a nap.

Hate Boston....but love to see our team play another well balanced great team. I can't remember the last Laker/Boston game that i didn't enjoy watching. Should be a great game, with both teams motivated coming off a loss (not that they need to be coming off a loss to be motivated for Lakers Vs Celtics). Gasol needs to man up, Drew needs to man up. Kobe needs to have faith in everyone coming through and pick his spots. Ron needs to contain Pierce (people forget the owenage Paul put on him on game 5). I can't say enough about the Bench and Lamars importance. I'm expecting a tight game similar to the reg season's equivlent of Game 7 last year.

it doesnt look good for us. thats the key for that last loss against sactown. we needed a victory to keep the pace with the others in our conference.

but the reason it doesnt look good for us, is not because we suck or boston is good or whatever. but historically, the team that loses the finals the previous year, usually comes back the first game the following year and puts FULL CONCENTRATED EFFORT into winning the next year. happens many a time.

now i hope im wrong. but this was one of the reasons i was pissed about that loss last night. rack up the easy victories when weve got them. and battle in the hard fights when they come. we didnt rack up the easy win. and believe this, boston wants to exact some sort of revenge and send some sort of message tomorrow. cant explain why, but usually from what ive seen in years gone by, the losing team may or may not have a good season, but they sure as hell want to exact some sort of revenge against the team that took them down in the finals.

I agree that the Celtics will try to establish their bigs and I think all of us are eager to see that match up develop. As for who has the advantage I can't say, it seems like your classic quality vs. quantity to a degree. I believe LA has 3 of the best 4 bigs in this match up but Boston can go deeper in the front court.

I don't think Celtics fans or others are really saying Shaq is anywhere close to what he used to be but he still bring positves to the table. Also the Celtics don't really need 30 mins from him especially with Perk being back. Shaq will play his consistent 20 mins, Perk will most likely play 20 mins while Semih gets a few mins.

DEEP3CL wrote:Celtics acquired all this so called size to combat the Lakers plain and simple because their rebounding sucked and still does

Yes, Boston acquited size after getting killed on the boards in the finals but to say do they still suck at rebounding is far from the truth.

Maybe I'm wrong but the only site where I can find fastbreak points shows LA being near the bottom of the league while Boston is near the top. Also when talking about rebounding we should include pace and not go with raw rebounding numbers. Basically the numbers show LA is a better offensive rebounding team( LA ranks 5h in offensive rebound rate to Boston's 30th) while Boston is the better defensive rebounding team(Boston 11th in Def rebound rate to LA's 21). Overall LA is a better rebounding team but as I said before to say Boston sucks at it is a stretch.
