Time To Trade Pau?

Post#1 » by Jerry Curl » Mon Jan 31, 2011 9:49 am

Call me crazy but lettus be cereal, Pau is softer than terry cloth and has huge value in the league. He is nowhere to be seen in big games and loves not playing D. They should trade him back to memphis for Marc Gasol and OJ Mayo

That will not happen. M Gasol has a bigger upside now since he's younger and OJ Mayo also... Paul is 30 and he's about to start declining. I don't think he will age gracefully like Dirk and Tim..

no need to trade pau, kobe, or odom...those are our untouchables...trade anybody else to make the team better...unless we get a young stud like rose, rondo, durant, or the likes

Mayo is playing terribly, he's not even starting. Plus he just got busted for steroids. All he is is a gun.

Ah, I guess it's that time of the year when Laker fans want to start trading our core players because we're losing.

Nobody is getting traded so relax. However if you are going to point fingers at Pau then you better point some fingers at the other guys. Shannon, Bynum, and Ron deserve some blame too.

I've been trying to trade Gasol since last year.

Even when he's played well, I've always seen him for what he is ... a really good player with a tremendous weakness.

Ben Wallace couldn't shoot free throws, Rondo can't hit a jumpshot, Gasol melts when played physical ... it is what it is.

Gasol is an asset to this team but he is definitely overpaid and he is definitely expendable in a deal that includes a replacement bigman and a dynamic PG.

Its easy to say we can trade him for this or that but he's a top 10 player in the league and unless we get someone better than him there's no point in considering trading the guy. No one's offering your CP3 for Gasol now.

We're not trading Pau.

If and when we do start entertaining trade ideas, I guarantee you they'll revolve around Bynum. I'm still down for a CP3/Okafor for Bynum/Odom deal in the off-season, then pick up another big via MLE. :)

I don't understand why people freak out this much in the regular season.

Will something happen? The chances are miniscule.

Should something happen? Tougher question. Moves should definitely be explored now though. Depending on what's available and depending on how the rest of the year plays out, a move should definitely be considered after the year is over.

That's all I'm saying.

The crowd is fickle.

Trading Pau is a terrible idea. He is the perfect fit to play 4 with Bynum and 5 with Odom.

Trading Bynum is even worse. He is the future.

You came in pitching an idea to move Pau Gasol to the bench before last season and now you want to trade him. There's absolutely no reason to take you seriously in this matter.
