The Lakers the last 3 yrs have been entertaining and fun to watch right now watching them is like nails on a chalkboard its unbearable. It just seems like after the parade in June every Laker with the exception of Kobe, Shannon and Lamar took the summer off I wonder if training camp was the first time some of these guys touched a basketball ball since game 7. And Bynum looked like a total idiot tonight especially after his comments after the Bobcats game where he talked about effort he was a total dog tonight. I no longer have any idea whats wrong with these guys.

Trade. Bynum. for. Melo. We aren't winning this year with this team. Might as well take a shot with Melo, and at least prepare for the future. Why does no one see this.

There won't be a major trade like a Melo trade I still think this team needs to add some athleticism and scoring off the bench. OJ Mayo thats the guys they need.

This is what I thought of when I saw the thread title on the board. We definitely got some of those running around tonight.

I lol'd. Definitely frustrating, but we'll be fine. This team will address the loss, and will be better from it. No need for the 2012 title haha

It would be an interesting gamble. The only thing with that is we lose Melo for nothing. If we didn't win this year it would be a disaster, we'd have no championship and a bleak future. Right?

Wait but we'd have cap room right, and because the Lakers are attractive to FA we could wait a year and sign Dwight.

Thinking out loud...

The people acting as if nothing is wrong and that it is silly to be worried are just about as annoying as those who are panicking in my opinion. Acting as if nothing is wrong with this team at this point is just silly. It's easy to sit here and go, "Oh we'll turn it on when it counts". But that is a very risky mindset, and an annoying one too which just reeks of arrogance. I want to see the team I support give full effort on every night, and you just don't see that on this team.

On another note, something that has constantly bugged me about Phil's rotations is leading me wondering whether it would actually be wise to trade Bynum. A lot of people here act as if Bynum is untouchable, and to me he'd be hard to let go, but the more I think about it the more I think it may be for the best to trade him for help. And my reasoning doesn't really have to do with Bynum himself, because I think he's a very good player with a lot of potential. But it's clear to me that Phil Jackson just does not trust him, and does not have any intentions of giving him the opportunity to thrive as a player. It's starting to drive me nuts seeing him routinely play 25-30 minutes a game and sit out basically the entire 4th quarter of games. How can a player that is supposedly so important to our team's structure never play in crunch time? I wouldn't mind if Bynum's minutes were being limited because of injuries, but that's not the case. Phil has never played Bynum in crunch time, and most likely never will. Getting either Shannon Brown or Derek Fisher out of the lineup in crunch time is just about reason enough to go out and get a great player for Bynum. Then again this is Phil's last season, and trading a crucial player because of his rotations is a very risky move. But, I think we'd all agree we're in the "win now" mode, and I just don't see how with Phil in town we're ever really going to get enough out of Bynum to warrant not looking into acquiring some help at the PG or SF spot.

I don't think its (I'm not worried) but its the reality of us not being able to make any moves. It doesn't appear that the Lakers will find it in themselves to turn this thing around so a move might be the only thing to fix this problem. However what realistic move to do you make? We don't have anything anyone wants. At least with the Pau Gasol trade we had a large expiring. All we have now is toxic contracts. Even with the Pau Gasol trade I'm not sure how Mitch pulled that miracle trade off.

im not gona lie, it IS time to panic. there is no chemistry on the team whatsoever. kobe, gasol, and odom can lead this team to another championship but they need to cooperate with eachother and play like they know how.

and although i think bynum is a good player, we need an upgrade NOW....as much as i like melo, i honestly think we need to get a point guard who can downright play
