Williams has always been my dream PG for the Lakers.
I had no idea he was available.
Would you trade Bynum & Brown + 2 1st and a 2nd for D-Wil?
I would have a hard time not doing this but it is a lot to pay.

Meh. I prefer Paul, but I probably would. And I don't think many other teams thought he was available either, NJ's offer was too good to pass up.
Gutta, we all know Bynum is going to be traded, whether it's for a star or not. He will not be the starting C for the Lakers come 2012-2013 season.

Oh okay. Like maybe for JJ Hickson or something?

Of course, because who needs a Howard or Paul, or picks to build on when we can trade Bynum for an over glorified role player to be our franchise star.

Nope...
Something tells me Lakers are preparing for Paul to exit NO
Howard right now is looking shaky cos Magic are getting itchy thanks to the bron and melo fiasco.
However nba maybe willing to sink the payroll to offer CP3 a crap load of cash to keep the team marketable.

I doubt they do that just to keep the Hornets around. It's not like Paul wants to be there anyway. Besides I thought some guy was willing to buy the team and relocate it?
And I agree the Lakers will probably look into the possibility of acquiring Paul. But N.O. has to get rid of trying to package Okafor with Paul or they'll lose him for nothing.

I would pass on that one, although we do need a PG, no way in hell are we trading a 7 footer for one. We wait and go for Dwight later.

Yes, you always trade for more talent...Williams is a super star, and IMO a better PG both in the triangle and after we phase out the triangle when Phil leaves, I love Chris Paul but he's more suited for a D'Antoni type offense.

Who says the Lakers are phasing out the triangle? And i disagree for always trading for more talent. Not in a case where you give up a 7 foot Center, we are trying to win Championships, not just make the playoffs.

I would do it. I don't trust bynum's health anymore. if you never trade a big for a small, does that mean if rockets were offered , say, ginobli for yao, they shouldn't take it? that saying doesn't factor injury prone players. if i could gaurantee bynum's health i wouldn't take the trade, but i think he's just an injury waiting to happen and I"d love to get some talent while he still has value.

i do it and don't look back.
the center position can be quasi filled by pau. the PG position can't be quasi filled by anyone, let alone getting a top 3 PG in the league.
fish just becomes the backup SG, deron's smart enough to run the triangle from the wing position i'm sure
sure this changes the way we play slightly, but the problem at PG has reached critical proportions

in a heartbeat, and anyone that says otherwise is 1) jim buss or 2) dreaming of multiple healthy seasons from bynum.

you don't want to take the ball out of kobe's hands. if you feel differently, ask portland how they feel about their backcourt rotation.
hinrich would have been perfect, shannon is coming along and this lakers team wins a championship with bynum on the court, so... no.
