Well I was going to propose Walton for Deron Williams but that's even better.

If New Orleans picks up David West's early termination option, would anyone else love seeing him in Purple and Gold for the MLE?

he's opting out of $9mill and you think he'll game MLE to play behind Odom/Pau/Bynum? :-?

Well, West did say that at this point in his career it's not about the money and that winning will be main priority. Although I agree I'm a bit skeptical about a player that's still as productive as West coming off the bench. He'll probably end up somewhere signing somewhere like the Thunder. Just thinking about it happening was a fun pipedream though.

According to sham sports it's a non guaranteed year, not a player option.

Even if he was willing to play for a contender for the MLE I don't see it happening because our PF rotation doesn't need any changes. There are teams would love for either Pau Gasol or Lamar Odom and somehow we have one of them backing the other one up. Lamar Odom has already sacrificed enough for this team by coming off the bench when we could be a full time starter on a lot of teams around this league. So I don't think it would be fair to bring in another PF.

Damn, was just going to ask for your opinion regarding K.Love. :(

"A lot of it was a few other teams that just need that one more guy. And a lot of it was circulating around the Lakers, 'cause we were out there as well. There was a lot of pressure and a lot of questions were circulating, and I almost felt like, 'Damn, I have to take a step back and, not assess the situation, but kind of look at things from a broad horizon.'

Or did I misunderstand it?

I'm not sure about the Love situation honestly. Throughout the whole All-Star weekend, all you heard about was how the Lakers (Kobe in particular) was trying to recruit Howard. You heard nothing about Love, so it could be Love's way of saying the Lakers name to ensure that the T-Wolves throw hella stacks at him. When is he a F.A. anyway?

Would anyone oppose to throwing the MLE at someone like a Kenyon Martin?

Yes. We should throw the MLE at a solid younger role player. I wouldn't mind over paying a young PG or SG with potential.

^^^I doubt we use the MLE again next season, just find a jem in the 2nd and hopefully we find ourselves another ring chasing vet who is still servicable.....only way I see mgmt using mle again is if they dump Walton for peanuts which I also highly doubt lol.

The only way we get Mayo is through trade.

Some believe that Lawson is going to be the future starting PG of the Nuggets, and not Felton. Which means Felton will be on the trading block. What do you think it would take to get Felton in the Purp n' Gold?

well since they wanted Caracter so bad during the last draft last year I say Blake/Caracter/one of the 2nd picks we have/future 1st.

I don't think Blake is worth a 1st rounder and Denver would probably want to keep it to build upon anyway. But I agree with your premise. Here's what I propose:

Trade Blake to a separate team for a 2nd rounder. With this trade, we would have five 2nd rounders for the upcoming draft.

DEN Trades: Felton
DEN Receives: Future 1st, two 2nd round draft picks, Caracter
LAL Trades: Future 1st, 2 draft picks, Caracter
LAL Receives: Felton

Denver gets draft picks and gets the big they desperately wanted.

Lakers get an upgrade at PG that we desperately need.

Then

CHI Trades: 25th or 27th pick
CHI Receives: Shannon Brown, two 2nd round picks
LAL Trades: Brown, 2 draft picks
LAL Receives: 25th or 27th 1st rounder

Chicago gets a upgrade over Keith Bogans to go along with Rose in the backcourt. They'll probably be looking to trade one of the 1sts away anyway.

Lakers get a 1st rounder to draft a big man to groom into a future starter like a Keith Benson.

We have an extra second round pick that we could either use to draft a SG or sell. Personally I'd sell it for whatever little it's worth, because with the additions of Felton and that 1st round selection our total salary goes up.

In the offseason go sign DeShawn Stevenson and Joel Pryzbilla or Dan Gadzuric as our backup C.

PG: Felton/Fisher
SG: Bryant/Stevenson
SF: Artest/Barnes
PF: Gasol/Benson
C: Bynum/Pryzbilla

2012 NBA Title please.
