Lamar Odom Appreciation Thread

I think Lamar has really stepped up his game this year. He's been more aggressive, more focused, and from that, his shooting is at a alltime high. His willingness to come off the bench is/was paramount for this team. Phil jackson is already on record as saying
"His coach, Phil Jackson, said Odom has been "invaluable" to the team."
He's definitely the 6th man IMO. Keep it up LO.

Shaking my head at those who thought Love deserved an Allstar nod over Odom. I am convinced if they switched roles Odom could post similar if not better Numbers for the Wolves. Not sure Love does this for our Laker squad.
The fact that he didn't make allstar should make it all the more easier to give him 6th man. All other candidates for 6th man weren't even considered for Allstar.

What has surprised me the most this year is his consistency.
He's playing great night in night out, not something we were used to see from him.
And his willigness to take any role the coaches are asking from him is just plain humbleness and dedication.

you could easily argue he's been our 2nd best player for large stretches of the season. at times he's outplayed both kobe and gasol. imo, we will see him have a larger impact on the playoffs than ever before. people always talk about how odom is a match up problem for every team we play, but the lakers never routinely abuse this. hopefully this changes.

Lamar appreciation thread? Why, is he signing somewhere or retiring?

Great game, Lamar. But it would be
really appreciated if you can do this in the playoffs.

So is there some rule that you cant appreciate someone or something until they retire or gone? Here's a tip, dont take that approach when it comes to women

. This appreciation thread goes far beyond just one game. C'mon man, have you not been watching LO?

I think its appropriate to appreciate a guy who is playing the best and most consistent basketball of his career. Especially considering its his 7th year with the team (12th overall) and he's finally become the guy we always wanted.
Lamar has been awesome...never thought I'd say that.

Yeah LO has been on another level this year, it takes a lot for a starter to accept a 6th man role, and is now playing the best ball of his career

Having his best season in Los Angeles. Even his jumper is working.

I gotta love that he's being selfish. the second unit was struggling because him and gasol are too unselfish. I kept saying this throughout the year.
You see how kobe went on ecstasy after odom went for 4 3pointers in row against Dallas. The fact that he didn't pass to anybody, missed the last one then drove and scored with an easy lay up, then penetrated again and looked but missed the layup because the refs don't love him..
5 straight possessions that Odom whatever he wanted. He needs to understand that when Kobe is on the bench he's our best (most talented/multi-faceted) player on the court so he needs to take the ball and do whatever he wants with it. Winning or losing, doesn't matter.
Btw guys, I know you hate this but... YOU GOTTA HEAT CHECK IF YOU'RE A GREAT SHOOTER LIKE BRYANT AND ODOM. hahah

Odom closed the last 2 games later in the 3rd and early in the 4th quarter. Lets hope he doesn't turn into unselfish mode again if he makes some mistakes or misses 2 in a row in the next games... Because we are not going to lose if he misses it, but we surely can ice the game if he knocks it down.

Where would we be without Lamar this season? I don't even want to begin to think about it. That's why I'm rocking his Sig. He has finally turned into the player we have been waiting for him to become. Now if he turns his defense up it would add yet another dimension to his evolving.

I'll be disappointed if he doesn't win the 6th man of the year award. To me that award would represent everything Lamar has sacrificed for this team. I never hear him complaining about not being a starter. He's been humble about it and has become a favorite player of mine over the past few seasons.

This. The guy never complains about what his role is on this team. Remember when Drew was coming back and LO was asked about his role as a starter and if it was going to change or not, he said that he would def except his role as coming off the bench. LO is just so humble

the success of his jumper, this late in his career, is nothing short of miraculous. he's shooting 40% from three and 47.5% on jumpers, its mind boggling.
