...soooo JVG just said that the Knicks have a decision to make this summer. will they pick up Billups option of 14 million or will they let him go? if they let him go he will be a free agent. is there an a** crack of chance he is wearing the P&G next season?

I really don't think there's going to be a big difference between Fisher and Billups next season. We need a younger PG, a drive and kick type player with lateral quickness on defense next to Kobe now. Neither Billups nor Fisher is going to do that.

Billups is sort of the opposite of what the lakers need. We need a young, speedy athletic guard. It could of been farmar if he had a higher BBIQ, and didn't have to suffer behind fisher.
The bigger question is, will fisher be the starter next year? I already think Blake is a lot better than him (which is sad) and he comes off the bench sooo...

Eh, his defense is pretty bad at this point, there isn't much of a difference between him and Fish at this point. I'd actually say Fish is more valuable against guys like Ray Allen, because he does a decent job of staying staying close to the body. On offense Billups is obviously better; he shoots at a better percentage and can just do more than Fish. He chucks way too often though and goes out of the offense, I'd really hope somehow LA can find a someone that fits better, but I wouldn't be totally againt it.

A guy that could be available is Felton I really doubt he would want to continue being Lawson's backup if the Lakers can put together a package with picks and Blake or Brown it would be nice. Outside him I dont see many young PG's available in the summer it would also be nice if the Lakers can trade back into the first round of the draft and get Nolan Smith.

JJ Barea is a UFA but I don't know if he's a starter or better off the bench.

LA should hope that Utah gets a high pick and takes either Irving or Knight, which makes Harris available for a SF at a lower price. LA could then use Blake and Walton to secure Harris in a three-way with Atlanta sending Williams to Utah for the much cheaper Walton & picks. Blake would go to Utah as a back-up. There will be otehr teams looking for salary relief with etter than average SF that could start in Utah. Utah will also be looking to dump salary Harris has 3 years with a healthy salary, making him prime dump material.
Memphis is another potential trading partner. Charlotte with Jackson. Milwalkee with Maggette. Philly as wll.

i dunno where u get ur info about harris and utah but utah is building around harris, gordon hayward and favors. and no one wants walton even as an expiring. and harris is really injury prone. hes good when healthy but doesnt have a 3 pt shot.

i dont know how you guys feel, but i would love to see Jarrett Jack in a lakers uni. Hes 6'2 or 6'3, even though he lacks the 3-point shot, he can handle the ball, has a good jumper and can drive to the basket.

If Utah gets Irving then they're no longer building around Harris. But there's no way they deal with us, let alone for Walton anyway.

I wouldn't mind Felton here either but I doubt Brown would want to play in Denver, where he would most likely be a backup playing behind Affalo. So he would probably shut down any trades of him going to Denver. While I wouldn't objected to moving back up in the 1st round they probably won't do it seeing as the main reason they moved out was to get away from the guaranteed contract. This offseason I wouldn't mind us going after Sebastian Telfair or Jeremy Lin to be our backup PG. I think they both have a chance of overtaking Fisher for the starting job since Phil will be gone. EDIT: Forgot Jonny Flynn we'd have to trade with Minn but he can be had.........anything is better than Fisher.

In a league that is full of athletic PGs, our chances are good.

Billups is done guys. I've been watching the Nuggets for a long time and arguably the biggest reason Denver improved so much defensively after the trade was the absence of Billups. Yeh, more than Melo's absence due to the simply fact that as we all know there are 500 athletic pgs in the league that will exploit yours deficiencies at the PG spot.
Not the same can be said at the SF spot. Even tho billups still a better defender than Carmelo, but not by much anymore.
Just like us, denver used their SG(Affalo) to guard some of the elite PGs when Billups was on the floor... Also he's a chucker.
If we're going to sign defensive liability like billups and such a huge chucker I prefer to stay with D-Fish.
We need a defensive PG because Kobe can't guard PGs all game long and still be our best scorer, at least not anymore.
A guy like collison(memphis' pg) would be great for us.

Bynum for a re-signed Marc Gasol and O.J. Mayo wouldn't be bad.
Bynum and Blake for Nene and Felton wouldn't be bad.
A before the draft trade of Pau for Barbosa, Amir Johnson, Reggie Evans and the Raps #1 pick (Kemba Walker or Brandon Knight?) would be alright.
Bynum to the Jazz could take many forms such as Bynum for Devin Harris, Okur and the Nets #1 (Kanter?) or Bynum and Blake for Al Jefferson and Devin Harris, etc.
Even a Pau and Blake for Felton, a re-signed Kenyon Martin, a re-signed J.R. Smith and the Birdman would be semi-decent .... err, maybe not

Of course the best pipe dream scenario would be Bynum for CP3 after convincing Marc Gasol to sign with us for the MLE and Yao Ming to sign with us for the vet min, hahahahahahaha!

All of your trades suck, only one I would even think twice about is first one.

Sasha + Blake = Hinrich.
I thought that was the plan. Pry him away from the Wiz by the deadline. I really wish it would have happened. But I have faith in this group.
My dream for this team is to have lock down defenders in the back court and wings (Hinrich, Kobe, Artest) and be huge in the paint with shot blockers (Bynum, Gasol, Odom). Best D and O in the game.
It was there for the taking. Mitch didn't want it.
