I won't let go of her T...

The Los Angeles Lakers are struggling big time…They are down 2-0 to the Mavericks and on the verge of having their threepeat dreams go down in flames…Now I know why… One of their star players has been playing extremely sub-par…We often don’t think athletes personal lives spill over into their work, but it happens just as often as regular folk…Case in point, Lakers Forward Pau Gasol…He’s been playing average at best the last few weeks, and my Lakers source is telling me Pau is in the middle of a bad break up with his girlfriend Silvia Lopez Castro…The Lakers fans have noticed Pau’s lack of energy and hustle…He was booed by the Staples Center crowd for most of the second half last night…My source goes on to say Pau is feeling seriously bad over Silvia dumping him…He’s not acting like himself and his teammates can see it on the court…It’s gotta sting getting dumped Pau, but getting swept will hurt a lot more.

Stephen A Smith talked about this as well before the article came out on his show. If it is true that Pau is being impacted mentally by a chick, I don't even no what to say. People manage emotions differently, but at the end of the day it kinda pisses me off to think that he can't separate the two and turn those emotions into his own personal fire like Kobe (Colorado), Fisher(Tatum), Odom(his son), MJ(dad), Horry(daughter) and guys like that

I mentioned this a while back, but I think it got lost in the posts. I'm pretty sure he's had a new GF for a while, but I didn't know he was the one that got dumped.

If that's true, then we're definitely screwed. Something like this isn't going to go away just like that, but it makes perfect sense. His head has just not been there in the playoffs, even when he's playing as hard as he can.

Ron needs to get his psychiatrist to talk to him

If it's true, which I'm beginning to believe it has to be, Pau truly is the only guy who can pull himself out his own funk by having that long hard look in a mirror. That and keying the bitches car wouldn't hurt either

Look at Tiger Woods, kblo. He was a machine and he couldn't keep his private life separate. This happens.

And IIRC MJ retired to play baseball because of his father's murder....that's not exactly stability, I'm sure some heartless fans were pissed at that.

Yeah MJ retired, but he also won that 3rd ring for him.

Tiger I'll give you though. Didn't he also have surgery as well though during that same span?

dude must be really distraught with this, it's messing his head. he should channel this into something that will drive him to play better. look at basketball as an escape and let it be his sanctuary. well, that's what I do, he's not me.

Depends. If Pau is as soft in the sack as he has been playing on the court, girl has needs too

On a serious note, I wish Pau would learn how to make the court and his opponent his bitch. At the end of the day if he could take out his frustrations, sorrow, sadness, whatever on someone he would have a burned lifted from his shoulder and the team would as well

Also Chris Paul had that amazing high school game of about 61 points or so in honor of his grandfather.
And that kid that Chris Paul flew out to meet because he was placed in a similar situation.

Gasol has to either play with more fire because of this, or just leave it out and don't let it control the way he plays.
