Lakers are DOWN 3-0. =O , but wait. Kobe is doing this because he wants to have his team be the first team ever in the NBA to come back down 3-0. When he does, he'll be LEGEN...wait for it....DARY

ourother fans wanna blame it on old age and not being as good as advertised. now i am mad at gasol, but in the end there is a reason that no other team besides us in the last 13 years has repeated or even come close to four straight finals. it is taxing on the body! i read in the la times the other day that kobe has played 393 games in the last three years, not counting this series. now i know losing to the mavs will still hurt and they deserve credit they are playing great, but i think a little rest and some tweeking will be just what the doctor ordered for this team. despite kobe's overexaggerated decline by the outsiders he still gave us 25/5/4 on his usual 45% shooting. all that with a bum ankle and a banged up finger. give he and gasol some rest(bynum really young he doesn't need any) with a few tweeks here and there and we are right back to being the team to beat imo!

I'm not ready to go home yet. Especially knowing the fact that we got swept.
Just get the win, it's a matter of pride now.

I don't post very often, but I've been reading on this forum for over 8 years. I know there's a lot of negativity surrounding the lakers right now, but any one who is a true fan should not give up just yet. If we as fans don't even believe in our team, then who will?
I know when you think about winning 4 straight games it seems impossible but the way I look at it, the lakers just have to win 1 game and this becomes a series again. If the lakers win game 4 and go back home for game 5 I don't see any way the lakers lose. They will not lose 3 straight games at home, it just won't happen.
So then it will come down to a game 6 in Dallas, that will be the toughest game to win but there might be enough doubt in the mavericks heads of chocking another series that if the lakers keep it close they can steal it. Game 7 will be a toss up but if we get to that point I just don't see us losing. So basically the toughest games will be game 4 and 6, if we win tomorrow we will have an opportunity to tie the series in game 6 in Dallas, at this point what more can you ask for? Just have faith, records are meant to be broken, history it meant to be rewritten so why not us? After all we are a pretty historic franchise aren't we?

We've just been f*cking around with Dallas to get them to show all their cards, Lakers set this up on purpose to make history....

should have won game one, should have won game three. win this one and you're one home win away from putting tons of pressure on the mavs to close it out at home in game 6.

When you have a guy like Lamar at the PF position who can cause a guy like Nowitzki, TREMENDOUS TROUBLE trying to defend him off the dribble and tire him out by running the offense through him why not do it? The P and R between Odom and Kobe (you can execute it between the both of them) is something they should use again and again out of the two-man game. Leave Bynum in deep post position on the other side with Artest on the wing and Fisher in the opposite corner. The simple threat of these two will cause Chandler to lose post position thinking about helping. On the other end, stick with the damn shooters and live with Odom on Nowitzki. Maybe Dirk shoots and gets 30 but he should not be doing it off of 4 wide open threes.

I am very confident that we can win, i really think we can win this series too. I mean we had Games 1 and 3 won but that **** Gasoft decided to moan about his GF dumping him so he decides to hump Dirk in the final 20 seconds since he can't hump on his girl anymore. Game 3 Gasoft was just as bad but Lamar, Fish and even Shannong Brown contributed. Shannon actually played a good game but i didn't like that stupid jump shot that he and Lamar took in the final 3 minutes when the Mavs was making their comeback. This team still settles for jumpers when we are desperate to score, they must feed the ball more to Bynum so things can open up for Kobe in the midrange. Kobe needs to quit going 1 on 5 and attempt some superman fadeaway shot when he's desperate.
We should be up 2-1 right now, so I don't see why we can't finally win at least one game. This series is not over and we need to play like we are the current champs and let the Mavs know that they are the chokers and not us.
The biggest concern is that biatch Gasoft is going to play like a lil biatch and ruin everything. I am so glad his GF dumps him, the fact this pansy can't even play a basketball game tells me his GF made the right decision. You don't want a man who is a wimp.

Tom Haberstroh reports that Nowitzki has shot 19-25 (76 percent) when guarded by Gasol in this series. Against other Lakers -- Ron Artest and Lamar Odom, largely -- Dirk is 13-32 (41 percent). On the one hand, why is Jackson leaving Gasol on Nowitzki at all? But Phil should be able to trust his No. 2 player to play smart defense, even if he gets burned a little. Instead, Gasol is doing no better than, say, Derrick Caracter would.

That fact above is horrible. With that said, let Dirk get his on Pau. Let Dirk go for 50 with no help defense. Just sit on their shooters and make them work for everything. I don't think Dallas can beat LA without us doubling up on Dirk and getting caught with our pants down for helping Pau.
LA wins game 4. They take it to Staples and win game 5. Doubt creeps in to steal game 6. Game 7 here we come

Long time, first time. I just had to post my opinion of what is going on. I've watched every Laker game since the 80's including many summer league games. Even thought I agree Pau has his head up his a## right now, I think the rest of the team is right there with him. He's just, goofy and awkward and an easy target. The main culprit for this recent decline is EGO, especially at the end of the games. What I see from the Mav's in the last 6 minutes of games is what I saw from the Lakers last year. The Mav's are making the tough shots and pulling ahead at the end for the win. The Lakers have come into the end of games #1 and 3 with a pretty good lead, and then blow it. Here's how.... They got the lead by moving the ball, playing within the offence. The ball goes in and out of the post....players cut...easy baskets are made. This is all within the flow of the game and it still comes naturally for these guys. And then comes crunch time. All of a sudden the offense turns into strictly one-on-one play. And they take turns doing it! If the ball goes into the post, Pau goes holds onto the ball, makes ten fakes, and then throws up a tough shot that doesn't come close. Next posession the team has lost "trust" in Pau, so Kobe holds the ball forever, as if he has all the time in the world, and takes a crazy shot. Next Lamar. Etc etc. This is because of EGO!!! Do you see the calm in Kobe's and Fish's face at the end of these games, and during the post game interviews? They are so full of themselves that they actually believe they are still capable of winning it all the way they are playing. They are the two time defending champs after all. Last year Kobe made these tough shots, so did Fish, and even Artest. This year Kobe's trying to do it on a bad knee and ankle with a bad finger. I don't think Kobe's too old. I just think he's too cocky to admit that he's hurt. Pau is too shell shocked to realize that his problem is trust from his teammates. He figures he better hold onto the ball and take any shot because if he gives it up he isn't getting it back. Fisher needs to realize that the ref's have all now seen his flopping oscar reel so nothing is believable any more. Lamar is playing awesome, but needs to realize that the longer he holds onto the ball the easier he is to defend. Drew is a beast. Wish he was still the defensive force he was after the all star break, before he remembered he could score 20 points. But he's making his shots so the public forgives him. Artest needs to fire his shrink that tamed him and become an animal again in the paint, and forget 3pt shots. Perhaps the ultimate blame lies with the Zen master, or now EGO master. After all, he's the one who pointed out that the Mav's are closing out games better than they are, but nothing seems to change. That's his job.
The Mav's are not doing anything special to win these games. They are playing consistent and solid. And it shouldn't be enough to win these games. The Lakers are still the much better team. The Lakers give up these leads by going to selfish one-on-one basketball. If they can continue to move the ball the way they did to get the lead....they could win all of their games! They know it. Just look at their swagger even in defeat. The problem is they don't seem to recognize it during the last 6 minutes of a game. I'm going to watch the next game with some hope left that they will figure it out. I'm pretty sure it will be less than a 10pt game with 4 minutes left to play. If the one-on-one offense emerges again....it's vacation time. If they pass the f###ing ball.....it's game 5 and 6 and 7...... Go Lakers!!
