Thank you for your years of coaching, leading and contributions to basketball. Not just LAL, but with the Knicks and then Chicago. You are one of the classiest and best the league has seen. 1973 games is unbelievable as a head coach. We appreciate all of the work you have done.

To your health and a happy retirement!

It was fun while it lasted. I want to watch his post game conference even though its going to be hard to do. He didn't deserve to go out like this.

The greatest coach of all time, shame that THIS had to be his last game.

He deserved a team that put in 100% effort, win or not every game. He just didn't deserve the crap that Artest, Gasol and Odom served up for him on his last playoff series.

Well.. 2 rings for coming back from quasi-retirement ain't bad return and thanks for all the good memories Phil, I just can't see another guy coaching the Lakers. Too many memories to count now.

Got arrogant for thinking we would be the champs forever.

3 straight finals appearances? Two championships. A back to back. That was a beastly 3 year run!

thanks Phil

rings to fill up his hands, and one to spare. Win or not, the least he deserved was a better effort in his last playoff game, let alone playoff series with the lakers.

Terribly disappointing way for one of the greatest coaches in NBA history to go out, such a shame that it happened this way. We were pegged as locks for the 3peat and for Phil to go out on top, but instead everything comes crashing around him and he has the word "sweep" permanently branded on his list of accomplishments.

Thank you Phil for all you've done during the Shaq/Kobe days and thank you for the back to back titles you came back to help guide us to. I just wish our heartless squad hadn't had let you down in this way. Shame.

Didn't agree with some of decisions this series. But there are so many things I'll miss about PJ. Sad that we sent him out this way (sweep, blowout, 2 ejections).

The last time we had to replace him it didn't turn out well. Let's hope we do better this time around.
Thank you, Phil.

5 rings in 11 years? Can't say the same for the haters and bandwagon fans of opposing teams. Thanks Phil!

Definitely not the way I planned for you to go out, but experiencing these 5 championships has been more than I could ask for. The 6th one would just be the cherry on top. Lakers all day!

Best of luck to Phil the rest of his life. Besides Kobe, he's been the face of the Lakers since I started watching this team. Will be a different feel next season.
