...so I heard this rumor...

Post#1 » by snaquille oatmeal » Tue May 10, 2011 12:28 am

please keep in mind that it is just a rumor at work and I couldn't get a source, but there was really no reason why the people I heard it from would make it up or would even have the imagination to come up with it, but it is disturbing enough that it makes me want to ask if any of you guys have heard it.

the rumor went something to the effect that the trust issues that Bynum was talking about went beyond the court. That somebody on the team told Pau's girlfriend that he was cheating on her and that is why she dumped him. the speculation was that it had to be Kobe who told either Pau's girlfriend or his wife and she told Pau's girlfriend. I really don't think any of it is true, but if anybody heard otherwise or has any credible source please share.

This is what everyone is buzzing about everywhere, I don't think anyone on the team is ever gonna come out and confirm it though, so we may never know whats up. It would certainly explain things, so lets see who's back next season and who's gone.

This rumor is all over the internet. The only real "credible" source for it is Bill Plashcke, who didn't really offer source for it anyway. Pau somewhat blew off the rumor.

That's pretty much what's being reported. There are some quotes of Pau shooting the allegations but there's definitely something there. He said after the game that "I've got to learn how to not let off the court things affect me on the court" or something along those lines. It'll remain to be seen if the relationship of Kobe and Pau can be saved but it's this, whatever it is that caused the strained relationship of Pau and Kobe and ultimately cost us a threepeat.

there hasn't been a credible source and frankly plashke referencing it in his article is now a solid notch below the spotty practices of espn who don't even report such gossip.

Well if we don't hear anything from the team, then I guess it's true...

I think this video is interesting in that context though...

It kinda looks like Kobe is making it all up as he goes along... And is trying not to rolfao...

I just read Plastkes article and pretty weak.

"I have to learn from this," Gasol said. ''I have to learn that when something happens off the court, you have to keep it off the court."

He was referring to the report that he stopped talking to Bryant during the postseason because Bryant's wife, Vanessa, had contributed to the breakup of Gasol and his longtime girlfriend. Lakers fans will remember that Karl Malone once publicly accused Vanessa of interfering with his personal life in a similar fashion.

Whatever was happening, Bryant and Gasol haven't connected on the court in a month, and the Lakers have been lost without the strength of their fusion.
according to what he is implying Pau was hitting on Vanessa even though Vanessa and Paus girlfriend are friends. sorry, but very unlikely. also I remember Kobe responding to the trust issues as "It got nothing to do with it".

Frankly, I feel like my balls shrink a little bit each time I read about stuff like this... It should be something my wife cares about not me...

But I just don't really think any of the rumors have come close to what really is going on... I guess we'll have to wait for Phil's book...

I admit it's a stretch. :) But it's the context that actually makes it interesting...

The question was asked in the midst of whatever is going on... The current round of rumors say that Drew was actually talking about off the court issues when he said there were 'Trust Issues,'

If that's true I think the video could take on other nuances not first apparent...

Drew never said what specifically he was talking about... So the reporter asked Kobe his take...

Kobe starts off the answer by saying "What he's referring to is..." with a smile on his face... I think one can take that as "We all know what he's really referring to... Wink wink..." or, "This isn't really what he was referring to at all, the following is some **** I just made up."

Like I said, I think the rumors are the bunk, but from a psycho-anthropological standpoint it fills the time until the draft...

You need to think a little bit harder about the definition of the word context... 8-)

The question was asked in the midst of whatever is going on... Taken in the context of Drew talking about off the court issues when he said there were 'Trust Issues,' like the rumors all seem to indicate, the video could take on other nuances not apparent...

Drew never said what specifically he was talking about... So the reporter asked Kobe his take...

Kobe starts off the answer by saying "What he's referring to is..." with a smile on his face... I think one can take that as "We all know what he's really referring to... Wink wink..." or, "This isn't really what he was referring to at all, the following is some bull-**** I just made up."

Like I said, I think the rumors are the bunk, but from a psycho-anthropological standpoint it fills the time until the draft...
if Kobe or his wife is/are the source of the trust issues why would he be smiling? even if they are not true he wouldn't smile about it.

He might if he thought Pau was being a big pussy...
Or if he thought everyone knew what was going on already...
Of if Kobe and Vanessa really had nothing to do with it...

The possibilities are what makes it 'interesting.' 8-)

I thought the guys on the GB were posting pics of Pau's girl and her mom or Pau's mom (can't remember which) at the Dallas game.

I have a very credible source actually that confirms either Pau or his girl was cheating, this is a fact. I can't tell you how I know and I can't be specific about it but it is very embarassing for Pau I will say that.

If Gasol cheated on his girlfriend, then Kobe or Vanessa has no reason to hide it for him. Not telling Pau's girlfriend about the cheating will only serve to encourage the (Please Use More Appropriate Word) to continue cheating on her.

I don't believe the rumor.

though I do remember a poster here saying that there is an on going disagreement between Kobe and Pau. or something like that. and it was beyond fixable. this was in the middle of the season or was around the all star break, cant really remember.

forgot the posters ID. but he always have claim to having a very reliable inside source to the Lakers.

At this point, it really doesnt matter what happened. Players will need to get over it or get shipped out. If you are on the court, you are expected to give your best effort. It's what you are paid to do. No excuses.
