if you could have a heart to heart with Kobe...

what would you say to him?
after reading this article I would def tell him to become Bynum's mentor and guide him the way he would have wanted Shaq to guide him. seems like Drew is hungry for more responsibility, but doesn't know the ropes yet.
On the day Phil Jackson pointed his cane toward the door for good, Kobe Bryant reflected on the olden days when Bryant didn't have a voice.
"He had to appease 'The Big Fella,'" Bryant said Wednesday of Jackson and Shaquille O'Neal. "In doing that, a lot of times I was road kill."
It's easy to forget all that went down — and how hard it was to juggle Bryant's will with the needs of other egos.
It was established from the start that Bryant wouldn't be practicing much, and he hoped to see the teammates he had so inspired in the past would start to carry that blazing torch.
Instead, he said they screwed around because the bossy big brother was absent – which Bryant on Wednesday called "upsetting to me."
"Guys felt like they could take days off because I'm not there," Bryant said.
There was no doubt about that, with non-game days featuring on-court sweat for most everyone except Bryant, who would get stretched out or rubbed down in the training room.
That led to those days being called "Kobe Spa Days" in the Lakers' inner circle.

I would tell him to think back to his time he wanted a lot of the pie. Bynum wants his piece and he thinks he deserves it. Problem is Big Brother Kobe is still seeing Drew as Baby Bro. I'd tell Kobe to find a way to trust Drew, because until then we really don't move in a direction to seeing the "chise" get better for the future.

If I had a true herat to heart talk with Kobe it would have nothing to do with basketball ... there are much more important things in life ... however, in regards to the Bynum thing ... I didn't like Kobe's statements that he is the top dog, Pau is second in line and Drew needs to "fall in line". The whole reason P.J. ran his offense through Shaq and would have done so whether he had Kobe, Jordan or BOTH of his team is because Shaq's FG% was like 60% and he was dominant. The whole point of basketball is to put the ball in the basket and no one in the history of the game could do that with the same accuracy and consistency as Shaq.
Now, I know Kobe is Kobe, a future first ballot HOF'er and Pau is the second most proven Laker but the FACT of the matter is that Drew can put the ball in the basket with greater accuracy than either of them. Honestly Drew should be the #1 option on offense in regards to feeding him the ball when he's got a mismatch and has deep position ... if he has that and Kobe jacks up a 20 footer, it is a bad shot whether it goes in or not ... if Drew has that and Pau shoots a fadeaway it is a bad shot whether he makes it or not. Period.
Kobe needs to make the game and therefore the wins come easy and you do that by playing the mismatches.

If I could have a talk with him I'd tell him to come out and publically support his teammates and say:
"these guys are my brothers, I believe in them, I cannot wait to get started next year. I KNOW we can win a championship with this core"
Time to be a leader, and support your brothers.

I'd tell him that you cant take the money with you after you're gone, so you might as well share it with me, and I'd also tell him to take a paycut so we can sign deron williams

I would tell him to sacrifice his lower percentage shots for higher percentage shots by either getting closer to the basket, or passing to AB/Gasol. I would also tell him to get his shots in the offense - Working off screens, getting better looks, etc. Really like the guy, but he's shot us out of a lot of games this year.

I've always wanted to tell Kobe to drive to the basket every time he gets the ball. He can get in the paint whenever he wants, but he always settles for fade away contested jumpshots.

This. Along with trying to get him to understand he can be effective by doing more than just shooting the ball.
