Mike Brown will not be the next head coach of the Golden State Warriors.

Brown, the former coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers, is expected to be named the new coach of the Los Angeles Lakers, according to two league sources.

Brown was considered a frontrunner for the Warriors' job, but is expected to sign a four-year contract worth approximately $18 million with the Lakers -- succeeding Phil Jackson as coach.

Boston only paid Doc a mil more per season, making him the best paid coach in the league, wonder what the logic behind this is and what kind of trades we could see happening.

I view Mike Brown as someone who woud be a good assistant coach/defensive coach but not what I really want as a head coach. Mike Brown as head coach makes me a little uneasy.

I'll say this and this will be my last post on this subject, but if Buss is leaning towards this hire...it's the most horrible hire he's ever made. I'll say this right now and you can book it, the Lakers won't win anything next season if he's the coach. Believe that.

I agree.......this garbage is floating around like it's true, yet the LA Times has yet to report anything on the subject.

It could be worse. At least the guy knows how to coach defense and you already have multiple guys who could score. Just let Kobe be a player coach for the team on offense if you have to and let Brown take care of the defense.

How did we go from Adelman to Brown?

This is ridiculous.

I WANT ADELMAN AS THE HC !!!!!!

Brown is a younger coach , has an idea of the newer generation but doent have as much experience + Adelman has the old school way of coaching & more experience.

Plus look at this... Cav's front office traded and added great pieces to compliment LeBron.. but Brown couldnt manage to control the team and lead them in the playoffs with all that talent, what makes them think he can do it here ??

Adelman coached teams with not so much talent for the most part.. but managed to get the best out of his players.. imagine what he could do with the talent the lakers have ?!!!?

bad, bad decision on the part of Mitch and the Buss's... guess next season isnt going to be any different than this. SMH

In Boston and LA, "it could be worse" is not an acceptable standard. It is high quality or bust: Brown is not a "championship" coach, this should be clear if you have ever watched his press conferences or heard his TO speeches in the Cavs. Perhaps the standard is different in NY...

What's strange about this choice (if its true) is that LA does not settle, and have apparently chosen to start doing so.

This......I was going to mention this on the GB, but when you start being real those kids there get all offended and wanna go cry to daddy. If settling is what Buss is doing he's going back to 04-05 all over again. Operating on the cheap. That won't get you titles.
