I know some of you might bash me for saying this but I would love to see the Lakers give Iverson a shot in training camp... if he does well he would be great as a scoring punch off the bench or if he does really well maybe even start at PG. Again, I'm not saying give Iverson a roster spot I'm just saying they should give him a shot in training camp... one thing I know for sure is that not too many players play with more heart than Iverson regardless of the dumb sh*t he has done and said.

Young? Check
Willing to defer to post players? check
Great attitude and no gambling issues? check
Willing to play D? Check
Athletic? Double check
Chemistry issue with Kobe? Check

This is a serious question. Is he still better than Blake and Fisher? He was slightly above the league average in Philly in his last year.

I'd rather give him the minimum than give Aaron Brooks the MLE I suppose.

Absolutely, me too! And yes, Iverson is better than Fisher and Blake even now.

I'd rather him take shots at the end of the shot-clock than Shannon Brown.

Iverson is done... It has nothing to do with his mental outlook or what kind of team mate he is...

Watching some of his clips from Turkey, he makes Derek Fisher look like Derrick Rose at this point.

I say bring all the oldies in ... give the vet min to AI, T-Mac and Steph Marbury and then split the MLE between Kenyon Martin and Yao (he loves Kobe, is still buds with T-Mac and would love LA) ... as weird as this all is, I'm serious. Pull that all off, make an easy trade of Odom, Blake, Caracter and Ebanks for Felton, Birdman and the #22, draft Reggie Jackson at #22 and then use our four 2nd round picks to trade up and make sure we nab a Benson or Tyler, use the other picks on guys to stash in Europe for at least a year ... all set.

PG: Felton/Jackson/Fisher
SG: Kobe/T-Mac/Iverson
SF: Artest/Hill/Barnes
PF: Gasol/K-Mart/Benson
C: Bynum/Yao/Birdman

It's crazy as, butwhy not, I wouldn't be mad if it all went down.

The sad thing is, as washed up as Allen is, he's still better than anything we have at the other guard spot. I still wouldn't do it, though, just on principle. A man has to have standards.

his willingness to comeback and admit his flaws are steps number one and two. Now I'm sure AI's going for the gold this time around.

his had his bad boy image for his entire career - would be good to finally see him come back and change that to end his career.

a camp invite to see how he goes / attitude is wont hurt. An extra pair of legs to run with couldn't hurt, see if he has anything left in the tank and assess how he is going after his injury which needed surgury.

if he is no good after camp, then cut him and that's it for him. If he has really changed and is willing to defer for the greater of the team then he could be a steal for a contender.

Iverson was pretty bad in Philly.

In his defense his last stint in Phil. he was going through alot of issues and in Turkey I got the feelin his heart just wasnt in it..Now ofcourse his athletically ability has declined but even at this point he's still far ahead of many of the pg's as far as speed ect. If he's in shape and hungry, he'd be a steal for LAL.

Why doesn't this guy just go away? He's a cancer, and he's just not that good anymore.

There is no way I'd ever want to see him wearing P&G. Like Sedale said, we have to have some standards up in this mugg.

As a role player off the bench sure.. but we all know how that would work out.

From what I've seen from his time in Turkey, even Fish would blow by him. What I saw was a guy who can't even get around mediocre Euro guards, so he's reduced to dribbling around the perimeter until he has to shoot... And when he does get to the hole, he can't get to the rim...

He's in no way an improvement over our current guards at this point.

His ONLY role on this team might be something like a Ray Allen sort of jump shooter... But Ray Allen has the benefit of being 6-5.

Like it or not, there's a reason Fish is still in the NBA and AI is gone and it has nothing to do with image or mind-set. Fish may not be a starter any more but he could still find a role in the NBA.
