Buyout on the works for VC.

Is it possible for us to get him cheap?? If he only has half of Kobe's heart he would have been one of the best... :D

He and Lamar would be BIG for us from the bench and at least I will be seeing him rather than Shannon "Dribble then Shoot" Brown...

Thoughts??

Would love to have him and Grant Hill on our bench.

If we're talking about these old guys how about Baron Davis for Walton+Blake+Barnes? He's motivated (always wanted to be a Laker), he'd be a steal at what would be basically 2/5m.

would be incredible to have him on our team ! .. but i dont see it happening, especially with the financial situation the lakers are in right now.

Why?? I don't think he is worth more than the MLE..

I'm hesitant to give him the whole MLE but after seeing how our bench performed LAST playoffs then I might say YES.

If they can get him or McGrady on an inexpensive deal and ship out Barnes, while adding a shooter/defender at the other wing spot we'll be in good shape.

Wasn't it a big deal last year or two years ago when he came into camp not terribly out of shape for once in his life?

We are not interested in BDiddy's contract and VC will likley get offers that exceed what we would want or could pay him.

Nowhere near this team please. He convinced me with this 11 missed 3 pointers in an elimination game.

You get vets who are good or who like to win, VC is neither.

he would be a great addition.. assuming his legs are in tact. hes got a deadly 3 pt shot, can create on his own.. would be firepower off the bench.. but he has knee and ankle problems. i remember him dropping 30 and getting real hot at times in phx. imo he still has it, especially in a bench role. just would be a waste if he was gonna get injured again.

slava.. he wouldnt be allowed to miss 11 3's in an elimination game on this team.

Yes he was bad that game but IMO he will be great for us if he will just come off the bench for us.

VC and Odom off the bench is better than SBrown and Odom IMO. :D

Barron Davis would shape up to be a Laker, that is no doubt. Hometown hero on his fave team as a kid are you kidding me? Dude would be solid.

I'd be all for Vince AND B-Diddy but only AFTER he is amesty'd out by the Cavs ... like I said before if this amnesty rule clicks in we could stock our bench with old school gangsta's ... give me a back-up 5 of Baron/Vince/Hill/K-Mart/Brand please ... you can throw in T-Mac and Iverson as our 11-12th guys too :-)

Why does everyone want players that are past their prime and injury prone over young talent and potential?

Uhmm don't know....maybe because young talent and potential DOES NOT win championships?
They want to ride Kobe as long as he can carry us...and to do that we need good players regarding age...we go young when we start the rebuilding process, not know.....not yet anyway

When was the last time you saw a "young" team make it to the finals and win it all. Wasn't the Cavs a "young" team and so was the Mavs back in 06 i think. Baby Bulls? Remember those guys?! Portland/Washington were all once young teams made noise in the playoffs and then succumbed to a team of seasoned battle harden proven veterans. Spurs, Lakers, Mavs, Miami winners when stacked with vets.

Look at the history of the teams that came out on top in the Finals, your blueprint lies there.

OKC came close this year.

VC is washed up. He's just bench space at this point with an okay J.
