Lakers interested in Johnny Flynn?

i think it would be the best way to handle our pg situation and not break up our core.
According to sources (and this tweet from @Probballdraft), the Lakers and T-Wolves discussions have been about the possible acquisition of point guard Johnny Flynn.
At first glance, Flynn could potentially help address the Lakers obvious concerns at the point guard position. For the Timberwolves, this rumor makes a lot of sense, as their primary focus next season will be to develop soon-to-be rookie point guard Ricky Rubio.

As I said, extremely quick, misused in Minnesota, and would thrive in the offense we're about to run.

Too many damn rumors to keep up with. First Howard, then Gasol for Love/#2, now Flynn.
**** is getting ridiculous now.
As for this latest rumor, I'm not sure what to think about Flynn since he's gotten that hip surgery. I'd rather take a chance on a PG in the draft than him tbh.

if I didn't hate tweeter so much i would have an account and tweet about possible trade talks taking place between the Lakers and (fill in whatever team) in the hopes that somebody at Lakers nation would quote me as a source and then I could have a thread in realgm lakers forum (and if I am really lucky in the gb) quoting me a source. that would be awesome.

Flynn had a 1.6:1 Assist-Turnover ratio, last year-- The year before, it was 1.5:1.
He was also bottom five, amongst point guards, in PER, and TS%, last year-- Bottom ten, in both categories, league wide. It gets even funnier when you look at the boy's usage rate, and compare it to the players in his echelon.
I don't have anything against Flynn, and would be willing to give him a chance, if it came at the expense of someone like Blake, or Brown, or Caracter. The only reason I'd consider trading Fisher is. . . Fisher's contract. lol..

Jetset...ur kidding right? you're talking about a first round 6th overall pick, still young with NBA experience. Forget the hip stuff... This guy has the correct work ethic, and is coming off of a situation where he feels like he has something to prove. Totally misused in Minny as Jajwanda said. I'll take Flynn over any PG other than KI in this draft class!

Triangle really hurt him though. I wonder what Fisher's and Blake's stats are.

All that sounds great and all but I'm just not impressed with Flynn, and this was before the injury. I just think guys like Knight and Jackson have a higher ceiling than him tbh.

Yeah, he's also a terrible playmaker apparently as evidenced by his crap assist to turnover ratio, is a streaky shooter, and a terrible defender. He's got a hell of a lot to prove, he's been average at best.

obviously i'd take knight and jackson...but we'd have to give a lot more to get those guys. what are some realistic trade options for flynn?

TPE+41+next year high 2nd should be enough considering his salary. At that price he's got more potential than the second round guys we could bring in. Obviously I'd prefer Reggie Jackson though if we're going to pay such a high salary price.
Jackson's slower but he's a better defender.

Honestly Flynn is not any better than Fisher and Blake. Enough with the crap point guards already

Hell no. LO is way too valuable and Brooks doesn't play any defense.

also read that Flynn will be shipped to NY as Billups' back-up in exchange for T. Douglas.
aah... Douglas was supposed to be a Laker also...
