so yao retired, and i believe bynum has been 2nd in voting for two straight yrs now. other than severe injury or a lack of a season/all-star game, can anything/anyone get in his way?

and I believe DeAndre will start for the Clippers, so unless Aldridge is listed as center there's not much competition there.

depends on how we or dallas comes out of the gate. if dallas storms out and chandler is playing decent i think he get's the nod, because they are the champs. if we come out blazing then i think drew get's it.

What from that picture meant I was serious?

Perhaps I should have opened with:

In the past Bynum has been a top center in votes pretty much because of the fact he's a Laker...this will be the first season he earns it. Hopefully.
If we do play this season, I just hope to see AB be consistent and healthy. Everything else will fall into place once that happens.

Tyson Chandler will get votes but I think when people look at his numbers it shows he's not an all star he averages 10 pts 9rpg 1bpg. But Bynum, Nene (if he stays in Denver), and Chandler (If he stays in Dallas) should be the top 3 vote getters.

Bynum should definitely be the starting C on next year's West all-star team and the Lakers should have 4 all-stars if all goes well

Well it will not be Yoa Ming. Lakers wanted to trade for him a few years ago when Kobe wanted to be a free agent. Glad that trade never happened.

Ming got all his votes from his home country. Just like baseball and the outfielder for Seattle.

I wouldn't be surprised if Bynum gets a ton of votes from China because of all the popularity Kobe and the Lakers have over in China.

I think the China vote in the all star game will be less relavent this season.

Bynum should get it if he stays healthy and doesn't do anything stupid (like commit an idiotic foul that will get him suspended).

Fans need to stop voting for all-star starters

Bynum's been runner up the last couple years, losing to Amare who didn't play center and Yao who didn't play at all.
He's obviously the favorite since Yao's retired.

Is Marc Gasol predicted to be in the East somewhere?!?! If Chandler is back in the West somewhere, you got to think he will average about a double double & get 2 BPG, while playing for the NBA champs as well. "Big Cuz" might be listed as a center since Dalembert maybe gone and they have Hickson to play the 4, plus I see that as his natural position as well.
PHX fans will argue that Gortat will be deserving of making an appearance at least(So overrated). My "Dark Horse" will be be LMA if he is listed as a center.
I think if Pau is getting some votes to be in the AS game, then Marc will pull some votes just to have both the Gasol's next to each other.
Other factors could be: Injuries of course(especially Bynum); who's got the hottest teams; who's making headlines; If Chandler is even in the west; and most importantly, who's producing. Never know if a guy like Perkins averages 11/8 with 1.5 BPG and OKC just so happens to be ripping the West apart and follows all of that with a mini brawl or something..lol

Porkins is going to get exposed in the West, unlike the East who only have 1 dominate C, the west have serveral good to above avg. C's. His strength is guarding true post up C's, the West has bunch of jump shooting C's outside of Bynum so his strength will be negated as he'll be pulled away from the basket. Anways Pau/Marc should get the Nod at starting C followed by Bynum as a reserve.
