Jennings: Kobe shouldn't be playing for Drew league

Here's Jennings' take:
Brandon Jennings on Kobe: "He wasn't born and raised in LA. You gotta be from LA to play for Drew. Show me a birth certificate."
Wow, Brandon. Those are some harsh words. You've got to admire the sense of pride he feels for the L.A. area and his courage to speak out against Kobe.
But let's get real. Though Kobe is not directly from Los Angeles, he is undoubtedly the most iconic current basketball player associated with the city right now. That should give him more than enough credibility to play for the Drew League.

And more importantly, the Drew League could use Kobe ahead of their rematch with Washington D.C.'s Goodman League (scheduled for Sept. 10th in Los Angeles). Why? The Goodman League got away with a 135-134 victory when the two teams first played on Aug. 20th behind 2-time NBA scoring champ Kevin Durant's 44 points. That team played without Kobe.
That team also had Jennings take the last shot of the game, which he unfortunately missed, with the Drew League down 135-134. Poor guy. If Kobe does join the Drew League again, you can be sure that he will have the ball in his hands in the case that a game-winning shot presents itself.

Sorry Brandon, nobody could hear you over the 38 CLANKS you put up while you play and shoot 28% from the field. What about having a certain skill level before playing in the Drew league.
The guy drops 55 and suddenly he's a hero. He complains about his shots even though he shoots a horrid percentage. Clearly the person/people that run the Drew league are ok with Kobe being there. Instead of wasting time on controversial quotes, spend more time in the gym become more than a below average point guard. I am willing to bet a vast majority of people associate Kobe with LA before Brandon.
I guess i would be trying to use any excuse to keep from getting owned by a 33 year old Kobe...wait, no I wouldn't because I have man parts.

Got to give it to him he is rather spunky - but for goodness sake dude. you're a 3rd tier player. This guy thinks he is the 2nd coming of Steve Francis!

Los Angeles has embraced Kobe Bryant as their own son especially after Philadelphia disowned him. He's spent his entire career there. Who cares what Young Money says?

Meh, it's Brandon Jennings. Dude talks a lot of trash for someone who hasn't really done much after that 55 point game. He's been real average since then.

Jennings is a tool, He knows he'll never be on Kobe's level as far as the NBA goes, no surprise he's getting butthurt that Kobe might steal his thunder for the Drew League too.

This coming from an idiot who said he wasn't invited to USA basketball because he signed with UA and not Nike, I'm not surprised the least bit.

I agree, kids an idiot but more power to him. Could be doing much worse and I actually find the shirt by UA amusing.

while i disagree with him as kobe IS los angeles ... jennings strikes me as one of those barkley types where they may offend a lot of people but theyre the type of guys who call a spade a spade whether or not you agree with them.

BJ just invited himself to a serious ass whup'in once Kobe sees the Bucks again. With how Kobe looked in the Drew game he played in, BJ is in big big trouble.
This is Kobe's town period, Jennings has a lot of nerve. Dude left Dominguez High in Compton to play for Oak Hill, Jennings may be from Compton but this will NEVER be his town.
