who knows if he'll say anything interesting, hopefully gives more light into the mike brown and staff hiring since players are off limits.
At 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Lakers General Manager Mitch Kupchak will be with us from his office at the team's practice facility to take questions from fans in a live chat.
Kupchak, who has been an executive with the Lakers for 24 seasons (including 11 as the head of basketball operations), has overseen teams that have combined to go 577-325 (.640), earned six Western Conference Championships and four NBA titles. Among Kupchak's duties as GM: day-to-day management of the Lakers; personnel and contract decisions; oversight of coaching staff; salary cap monitoring and strategy; scouting of international and college players; and marketing/public relations.
While Kupchak will be able to address multiple topics, including the new coaching staff, principles on offense and defense, the use of statistics in evaluating players, scouting trips and so on, the current labor situation in the NBA will prevent him from answering certain questions about players and the labor situation.
