Spain Euro champions, congrats Pau: Top Center +1st Team

Post#1 » by vmor » Sat Sep 17, 2011 4:48 pm

KAUNAS, Lithuania (AP) — Defending champion Spain and first-time finalist France will compete for the European basketball title on Sunday...

Juan Carlos Navarro scored 35 points in a performance his coach called a “masterpiece” as Spain beat Macedonia 92-80 in the first semifinal on Friday... Pau Gasol had 22 points and 17 rebounds

France got 22 points from Tony Parker to beat Russia 79-71 in the late game. Nicolas Batum added 19 points for France

per cbslocal

Does anyone know how/where to watch it?

Finally watched the highlights and two things impressed me:

1. The passing between the Gasol brothers is superb, similar to the 2 man game Odom and Pau with one of them posting up and the other cutting through.

2. Pau's definitely added a legit perimeter shot and he's been draining 3s, which might not happen in the NBA but he surely will add more range to spread the floor if he has to play with another center.

Since when did Pau become a legit 3 Point shooter. Gawd I was so giddy when I saw that... There was a small puddle... Most awesome!

He must've been jealous of Dirk's 3pt shot :D Seriously, Pau Gasol always had a nice midrange shot, but his long/3pt shot should be an interesting way of stretching defenses. Didn't Pau have one at the end of quarter against the Mavs, though?

I hope Bynum was watching the Gasol Bros. cooperation, and Kobe JC Navarro's...

Not a bad couple of weeks of work for Pau at the Eurobasket:

Best Player: Juan Carlos Navarro (192-G-80) of Spain
Best Center: Pau Gasol (214-F/C-80) of Spain

1st Team
PG: Tony Parker (183-80) of France
PG: Bo McCalebb (183-85) of FYR Macedonia
G: Juan Carlos Navarro (192-80) of Spain
F: Andrei Kirilenko (205-81) of Russia
F/C: Pau Gasol (214-80) of Spain
... per Eurobasket

Now if we could get that Calderon guy from Toronto,
or at least young Rubio before he settles in Minnesota to feed Pau...
