None of the articles say what the Lakers pay him per year though, which you would think would be an obvious thing to include, but for some reason they don't tell you.
So...How does the 5m/year compare to his NBA salary? I mean only what he makes from the NBA, no endorsements, appearances, etc.
10/11 -- $24,806,250
11/12 -- $25,244,493
12/13 -- $27,849,149
13/14 -- $30,453,805
For 82 games + playoffs + preseason - taxes
So if Kobe only plays in the regular season he'd get $300k pre taxes per game.
Most overseas teams take taxes into account therefore salaries are usually given as net incomes (aka post taxes) so if he was offered $5 million for a contract, he'd get $5 million. A lot of Euro teams provide housing and transportation stipends, and I'd imagine they're offering Kobe top tear of both compared to what most players get.
