Jordan Ruining His Legacy ... Again

First there was the gambling troubles, then the failed baseball experiment, then the failed marriage, then the failed comeback, then the horrible running of the Wizards, then the horrible running of the Bobcats ... and now ... being one of the hardest hard-line owners against the players.
Has Jordan destroyed his lagacy for good or just put another major dent in it?
Kobe is offering loans to players while Jordan who is 10x richer than Kobe is whining and complaining for a hard cap, etc ... perhaps if he would have drafted Brandon Roy or Rudy Gay instead of Adam Morrison in 2006, or Joakim Noah and Wilson Chandler instead of Brandon Wright and Jared Dudley in 2007, or Brook Lopez, Serge Ibaka and Goran Dragic instead of DJ Augustin, Alexis Ajinca and Jyle Weaver in 2008, or Jrue Holiday instead of Gerald Henderson in 2009.
Jordan would be sitting pretty with a lineup of Jrue/Chandler/Gay/Noah/Lopez and it's not the NBA players union he can't spot talent and likes to draft dudes who suck.

A lot of hearsay going on right now. Probably best to just sit back and wait for it to be over.

MJ could take a dump on the NBA's constitution in a 1 hour televised special on ESPN and still have his legacy intact as the greatest basketball player ever.

i hear what your saying, on nba today with ryen they had some guy talking about how jordan is the head guy pushing stern for 53% of rbi to the players 47%, just the other day hunter stormed out of the room after the owners didnt budge from 50. the more this drags out the worse it looks on the players while the owners are sitting back waiting for the players to crumble. And thats exactly what the owners intend to do.

Spot on, although I definitely think he's being a huge hypocrite. If anybody's got an iron-clad rep, it's Mike. Besides, absolutely none of that had anything to do with what he did on the court, which is straight-up ball like nobody else before or since.

I think we can all agree Jordan has always been a horrible owner, however he still IMO the best basket ball player ever. Gambling, divorce, bad drafting and being a cheap ass does nothing to tarnish his ball playing days or legacy as you put it #getittogether

Why does him failing at marriage ruin his basketball legacy? That should play no part... don't a ridiculous percentage of marriages end in divorce now a days? The guy played in the major leagues for baseball too so unless you've done that recently I wouldn't say he failed.

You're all missing my point completely. I was not asking if all these things and especially this latest slap at the players union would tarnish or ruin his legacy as one of the greatest basketball players of all-time ... I was asking if they would ruin his legacy as the most beloved basketball player of all-time and perhaps the most beloved U.S. athlete of all-time ... and I think it will.
Tiger Woods went from possibly more beloved than Michael to an absolute untouchable just because it came out he was a sex freak and cheated on his wife ... well Jordan did the same long ago and is now showing himself to be a major hypocrite and I definitely believe tarnishing his popularity with players who grew up idolizing him!
As for my threads being crazy ... who cares, they get read, they get commented on and they spark a lovbe or hate relationship ... that is what all writing should do and I love it

No, because the average fan doesn't give a **** and isn't following the negotiations all that closely. Hell, I'm not even following that closely, although I know the gist of what's happening. I certainly don't think this has any negative effect on his legacy. It's unfortunate that we have to wait, but whatever.
Believe it or not, there is life outside of RealGM and basketball in general, and most people just don't care enough to point fingers in any one direction.
