Cut Brian Grant!!

Post#1 » by CodyB_ » Wed Nov 9, 2011 6:34 am

We should use the amnesty to cut Brian Grant.

Who remembered this sentiment the last time there was an amnesty and we just shipped off diesel?

It's surprising how many people think that the amnest will no longer count against the cap and the players aren't still owed the money.

Who are we going to use the amnesty on this time around? Luke Walton?
Don't be a jerk.

Last time there was an amnesty clause, the contracts still counted for the salary cap... that hasn't been the case in discussions this time. You still have to pay the player, but the numbers come totally off the cap. Meaning it's a huge deal for just about every team who has a bad contract, not just teams in the luxury tax.

And yea, Luke if he doesn't retire

best case scenario, Luke retires, we sign a vet PG that gets amenstied (davis/arenas) and then amensty Blake....dont see a need for Blake if Davis/Arenas is signed, we'll need to give some PT to one of the rooks anyways see if they can become something in this league.

I don't trust Arenas one bit. The dude clowns around too much. Even when there's a big game Kobe in assassin mode won't like the clown Arenas. Now I've seen Baron Davis in assassin mode and it kinda goes like this....

I've also seen Baron in stuff-his-face mode, and I'm not sure that's worth the gamble.

True, but the problem was he never played with good to great players. That situation could be a lot different here.

Baron Davis only plays well when he's on a team with other good players.

if he isn't, he pouts and doesn't care. he was playing quite well before he got traded to Cleveland
