It's a shortened season with a new coaching staff in L.A. This could be a repeat of 2008.
Who's with me?

Anything is possible. It depends largely on how many games the Lakers win and how well Kobe plays. He's going to have to be more efficient than he was last season, and probably do a bit more play-making. Last season I thought he played a selfish brand of basketball, so things are going to have to change this year. The Lakers will probably have to have the best record in the league in order for Kobe to have a shot.

Bet on it. Shortened season benefits him, 2nd round exit from last year, more freedom with Mike Brown, he will be gunning for it.

I agree. Something horrific would have to occur like both Pau and Bynum go down and Kobe wills the Lakers to a better record and into the playoffs. Kobe would have to dominate like... Jordan!

Oh great, some websites have already started pushing this. This argument is a stretch but has some legs to it......
