I have to questions for everyone:
1.) Does the news that both Billups and Baron are going to be amnesty cuts change Mitch's mind on trying to acquire CP3 ... for example does he feel a Billups/Gasol combo is better than a CP3/Brandon Bass combo? Personally I do think a Billups/Gasol duo would be better, at least for this year ... however I am in favor trading Pau for CP3 as the difference in age makes up for the "now".
2.) If we do land CP3 and have no need for Bilups or Baron, where do you think they end up? I'll take a guess and say Baron signs with the Heat and Billups goes back home to Denver ... or maybe the Celts if they really trade away Rondo.

Lakers can only offer the min bid and the highest bidder wins so we have NO chance at either player.
Lakers are 22-3 in OT last 6 seasons:Kobe best OT closer!

Re: Billups & Baron ... Impending Amnesty
I honestly don't think any team is going to bid on Billups .. he will be a psycho unless he gets to pick his team ... I see the Knicks putting in a min bid on Baron which we could match ... so ... if this CP3 trade never goes through I think we could EASILY get Baron or Billups, and that alone should make our team the champs and stock our roster!

New CBA screws the Lakers out of getting either, and that's probably not a bad thing for competitive balance.

It'll be interesting if he can bluff his way to the Lakers with the threat of retirement... I don't think so though, too many teams are willing to call his bluff, and it's not like there aren't other contenders who won't bid for him.

I'm just posting so I don't see your stupid userid anymore on the main forums page ... your post is 100% correct though ... it would be amazing if no team, especially the Pacers didn't call his bluff and put in a bid for him ... he'd actually do well with the Clips, Pacers, Heat and Lakers I would think, though I can see him having a fit if the Pacers are the team that picks him up ...

Re: Billups & Baron ... Impending Amnesty
Chauncey is acting like a gangsta but the more I think about it the more I don't think it will matter ... why in the world wouldn't any team bid a couple mil to pick him up on a super cheap 1 year deal, even if they don't want him, when they know they could probably at the very least get $3mil cash and a pick for him in trade?
I do NOT want to see him go to the Heat and I would actually think Dan Gilbert is a pretty cool guy if he picks up Chauncey, refuses to amnesty Baron and just tells the two, "I'm not playing either of you in games but you can play 1-on-1 every practice" and only agrees to trade either if it's to a team who won't send them onto the Heat, hahahaha.

Then both file a complaint with the NBA PA and seek their outright release...
