Rank this backcourt all time (on paper)

Post#1 » by J Rob » Fri Dec 9, 2011 1:29 am

Granted we have to see Kobe and Paul play together, but at least on paper, where does this backcourt rank all time?

It appears better than Thomas and Dumars, Frazier and Monroe.....can't think of any other ones.

It feels like we've never seen two guards of this caliber start together.

Well it's funny how people forget (or youngsters that never knew)

In the 1987 & 1988 seasons (2 Seasons) when the Lakers won Back-to-Back titles:

Magic & Byron Scott averaged a combined:

41 (1987) & 42 (1988) Points

15 (1987) & 16 (1988) Assists

10 (1987) & 10 (1988) Rebounds

So if Kobe & Paul can dupicate those numbers and results...we'll talk!

Yeah, I was thinking about that 88' Magic/scott combo ... 42/15/10 is nice ... Isiah and Dumars were great ... parker and manu should be mentioned even though manu played 6th man ... hardaway and richmond were unbelieveable but never won a title ... i could see Kobe and Paul averaging a combined 42-44 points, 16-17 assists and 8-9 boards ... and winning the title which indeed would make them the greatest backcout pairing ever!
