I will not be surprised if the the players go on strike over this because the trade was fair and the NBA had said when they became owners of the Hornets that the NBA would not interfere with the team, but now they did and prevented a player from being traded.

as i said in the other post, boycott by players and fans is the only way to get back at the league.

Stern cannot fine him. Because he talked trash about Stern not the league. BRILLIANT.

You can call Stern an A-hole. Just don't say anything about basketball what-so-ever.

I like how all these losers in the small markets are clamoring about oh Stern saved the face of the NBA. But in reality that idiot just made the biggest mistake of his life.

Lets see if Stern says no to Dwight to the Nets because Dwight is going to be paired up with D-Will. Since he said "I don't want players to choose where they want to play" well Stern you better get your magic wand out and veto this trade too. F'in douchebag.

I've never been so pissed about the NBA until now. This league is a disgrace to the game of basketball.

No one is beating the heat anyways, seems like a better idea to me to have two superteams vs just one.

Oh boy ... another joker

The players are their own worst enemy and are destroying parity ... in other words, they consistently opt to the least path of least resistance by migrating to the larger mecca's to win a title. They have that choice, but it shows they do not understand the long-term stability and growth capability.

The NBA has never been about parity. There was virtually no parity in the 80s/90s and that was the NBAs golden era. People worried about every team having an equal chance to win in the NBA are just wasting their times. The teams are too small, where one or two guys can instantly chance a franchise, and the playoffs are too different, with best-of-seven series, to achieve parity. It's a complete and utter pipe dream.

Exactly. I've posted what i'm about to say here before. Every sport thrives when there's a perennial "Monster" that you have to knock off year after year. The fans & bandwagoneers of that team lavish & all the victory's while the other teams & fans can't wait to see them fall.

Sedale lets look at foot ball in those same era's. 80's you had to solve the 49ers puzzle. 90's The Cowboys. Every year you wondered if anybody could take those guys down & the sport thrived. Same with the NBA. 80's Lakers/Celtics, 90's, Bulls.

Small markets can hang it up as you stated.

Well, it's not necessarily about the market, rather than the notion of parity. Look at Green Bay and San Antonio; small markets can win, which is something the whiners always seem to overlook.

But everybody worships the NFL for its parity; not only is it much, much easier to achieve parity in a sport with 11 players a side, but with a single-elimination playoff format.

And not only that, but is just me, or is the one-for-all, all-for-one NFL tremendously mediocre any more? I can't remember the last time I sat down to watch a game not involving my team, just because the matchups are so blah.

I hate when people talk the parity garbage lol it was always LA, Boston and Chicago getting titles.
