World Peace is about to Blow Up!

Post#1 » by Kilroy » Tue Feb 14, 2012 6:04 am

Crazy Ronnie may not be that funny anymore...

World Peace is "walking around all crazy-like. We're just waiting for him to go off," one Lakers player recently told FOXSportsWest.com, speaking on the condition of anonymity.

Added another teammate, also requesting anonymity: "He's always talking about how he should be playing no matter how bad he's shooting, but he can't figure out that when he takes bad shots and misses eight in a row it puts us in a hole."

What's more, a source close to the team told FOXSportsWest.com that Brown wouldn't be averse to trading World Peace — not necessarily because of a personality clash but simply because he hasn't played well.

And that would make some of his teammates happy.

"There are a lot of guys in here who'd just like to see him gone," one player told FOXSportsWest.com on the condition of anonymity. "I think we'd definitely be a better team if everyone didn't have to walk on eggshells when he's around."

World Peace — known as Ron Artest until this, his 13th NBA season — is averaging a career-low 22.4 minutes a game in the Lakers' first 27 games. He's averaging 4.7 points a game on 32.7 percent shooting, both career-low figures for him.

World Peace was not available for comment after the Lakers' practice Monday, but he expressed displeasure with Brown during an interview with CBSSports.com.

"I let him coach and I play," World Peace told the website Friday before the Lakers' game with the New York Knicks. "I'm just trying to win, and . . . coach is a stats guy. His background is video coordinator or whatever. So he's all stats. But Ron Artest is all feel."

This just doesn't sound like the Lakers though... Maybe one of the new guys? McBob?

He better start backing his talk up with his play because I think most of us agree he needs less minutes not more.

Well this is either the beginning of him playing better or his way out of town. Either way, Lakers win.

Can't see this coming from any of our vets. Wonder who those quotes are from.

Anyways, it'd be tough to find someone willing to take him off our hands.

Also he went pretty nuts on twitter about how good defensively he is and his offense will come around with quite a few tweets in about a half hour span and then deleted them saying something about how his tweets are for his followers and not everyone. I was wondering what happened that set him off on that tirade. Probably something with this story. Don't know if anyone else caught that whole chain and has thoughts.

His deletion tweet was "I delete my tweets because they are for my followers not everyone." That one is still up. There was one good one where he said he has only had issues with 2 players in their prime, Lebron and Kobe, except only one didn't need screens...Kobe.

I'll bet it was Fish. He wants to deflect some of the blame onto Ron so that he doesn't get the ax as starting PG. Veteran move Fish...veteran move...

I hope he punches someone in the face. Preferably wait until we play the Trailblazers and knock one of them out. Only way to get him out of the rotation and get Ebanks in.

Lakers record when World Peace plays for +30 minutes IIRC is 4-0.

Better yet, a nationally televised game where David Stern is in attendance so that Ron can go greet him personally.8-) I kid...maybe

I don't recall any boxscores, but I'd imagine it's because of two reasons.

1: he plays 30 minutes because he's not jacking/actually making shots.
2: injuries/big leads already.

I'd bet a rookie/ebanks,kapono or Bynum leaked that info.

I know the majority of this board doesn't like him, but...

http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/21 ... f_The_Week

If we amnesty MWP, I'd bring him in. We can use the athleticism and this team has virtually no open court weapons. Just like Phil Jackson said in the offseason, the Lakers need to score more easy baskets and it just isn't happening.

His defense is questionable, but a lot of that is desire and if he has it with our staff's defensive reputation, they should be able to make him credible.

Plus this team should be playing more aggressive and even some gambling defense at times on the perimeter, that is what you have the trees (Bynum & Gasol) behind you for.

He won't be playing much longer for us once management gets a hold of this, if they haven't already.
