http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/story/Miam ... ade-021512In other news involving NBA big men, a source said Wednesday that Minnesota continues to pursue a possible trade for Lakers forward Pau Gasol, dangling rookie Derrick Williams, who is from the Los Angeles area, and draft choices. The only players considered untouchable by the Timberwolves, who are seeking to add a veteran by the trade deadline, are Kevin Love and Ricky Rubio. The Timberwolves believe it could be enticing for Gasol to play on the same team as fellow Spaniard Rubio.

Who they got outside of Love and Ricky? I believe that their pick is also with NOH now.

Pau for Rubio, Beasley and Pekovic

Beasly, D. Williams and Wes Johnson. I'd do it. Be a tough time getting salary's to match between the two teams. I would consider dealing Pau as long as Fish or Peace go with him.

I love Pau's play as of late, but I'd ship him out for depth and youth. Watching him and Rubio play would be cool too, just wish it could happen in purple and gold.

Only if Derrick Williams is flipped to NJ for Deron

A lot of that sits on whether or not Deron is willing to force his way to LA. If he is willing to do so then NJ would be foolish to just let him walk for nothing.

We would be taking on a boatload of players if it was a straight up swap. Not bad in terms of adding depth and youth but I think this would have to be a multi team trade to address the PG issue. Beasely and Williams on the same team is also pretty redundant. They have some interesting filler pieces though I will admit. Webster or Ellington are guys that could help space the floor, Malcom Lee was a pretty good defender at UCLA, Randolph=Magic, etc...

It looks like Kobe/Pau/Bynum is finally starting to gel again and the Kobe/Pau bond especially seems to be improving...
Not looking to trade him unless it's a no-brainer...

No way. With Rubio/Love being untouchable, Wolves have nothing that we need.

If only we get D-Will in return. If not then I say pass. It's going to be interesting to see how bad T-Wolves want a big 3 of Gasol/Love/Rubio.

What they are keeping as untouchable is what the Lakers would ask for in return. Love for one. D Williams is a great young player with a ton of upside. But Kobe wants to win now. Not in a few years.

no way should we pass this up but a straight up swap won't do it. Williams/Beasley are nice pieces for the wing position but who will replace Pau? Barrea and Ridnour are back up material. yes they are good but they're not "the need that we want".
a third team.. I'm thinking of Charlotte, Cleveland, Detroit, Clippers (?), Jazz. hmmm..

Hell to da naw!!! Thats like the Lakers saying, "We want Love, and the only players that are untouchable are Kobe, Pau, and Bynum."

I just looked at their roster and they aint got SH*T we want or can use. If anything, we would have to take on 4 player from them, maybe Beasley, Luke Ridnour, D. Williams and either one of there centers: Darko, Brad Miller, Pekovic. Which means we gotta get rid of 3 players...which 3??? Dont wanna give them Murph. Or Goudelock. Or Barnes. To hell with Minn! Mitch needs to tell them, "Hey, either sh*t or get off the pot!"

No. Effing. Way.
Beasley sucks and can't play the 3. And even if he could, who would play the 4, Murphy?

Simple... Pau for K Love or NOTHING (filler needed)... They move Pau to the 4 & open up minutes for their players & we get a 4 to complement Bynum... They have nothing else of value... Sometimes the best trade is "no trade"...

Some of you aren't even thinking big picture. You just see "Pau for any player on the T-Wolves not named Rubio or Love" and think "no way, not unless Love is coming in return". What you're not realizing is that a deal like this helps us get Howard and we'd still have assets left over. Hell, if Orlando accepts Bynum/the filler we have now, it's quite possible we could flip Pau to Minnesota and actually have a respectable package for Deron.
I'm not against trading Pau by any means, I just want Houston and Minnesota to get into some bidding war so we can get the best deal possible.
