The Lakers have inquired about Hawks guard Kirk Hinrich, according to a tweet from Alex Kennedy of HoopsWorld. Hinrich is averaging career lows across the board, including his 19.9 MPG, after missing the first month of the season with a left shoulder injury. At 31, though, he's still probably closer to his prime than either Steve Blake, 32, or Derek Fisher, 37, the Lakers' pair of veteran point guards.

I don't want this guy here either... I would rather get Sessions, Felton, or even Arenas than him to tell you the truth! Sessions is the main guy to get though!

No. He isn't.

You should've.
And Hinrich isn't a 1st rounder at this point. The guy is done.

I always liking him.. but he was much better fit in Phil system than the system we had now.

I've heard the name Kirk Hinrich mentioned EVERY year for the past 4 years. 4 Years ago, he would have been great, I don't want him on the injured downside of his career now.

There is one other possibility. Perhaps the Lakers weren't willing to include Barnes in a subsequent deal for a PG and they've identified their primary need as PG. Maybe the luxury tax isn't the real reason but in fact the TPE flexibility. They've pursued guys like this pretty rigorously and there would be no compensation for Hinrich. Mitch himself said they would pursue a player with the TPE, so let's give them a little credit.
I like Hinrich's defense on Wade and honestly I think he's a SG at this stage defensively and in what he does. He could also play some nice D on Harden in the playoffs.
That said a deal for Ramon Sessions would be my preference right now. Maybe Cleveland throws in a little cash for us if we give them a first?

But it wasn't last summer, it was last year. When we were running the triangle, a system where Hinrich would be excellent in. In our current system...I don't see how he's much better than Blake.

I'll go ahead and be the first to say, "I sign off on this move 100%."
I have always thought that this would be THE MOVE since training camp.
I like Hinrich because of his defensive versatility. He can guard both guards, which means he can play with Fisher, Blake, and with Goudelock.
I see Hinrich as an immeadiate starter this year and as a key bench player next.
I still have my eye on a Bynum/Blake for Wall/McGee/Blatche trade in the offseason.

Oh have to. Insider salaries... The order is simple:
1. Sessions @ $4 million
2. Felton @ $7.5 million (last year)
3. Arenas @ $500,000
Enough said...
