Yes. And I wish we'd kept that team together in the offseason.

Well we won the title the next year with Ron's skillset proving huge in the playoffs.

I know that comparisons like that are stupid and have no base, still, could Ariza have done the things Artest did in game 7 vs Boston ?

2009 Lakers were great, I miss them. Was just a great regular season. Kobe's 61 @MSG, Powell starting at PF and doing a good job when Drew was injured. Ariza literally having a clutch steal in every 4th quarter of close games. The Machine hitting 3's, Farmar driving in the lane and playing P&R with our Bigs and then there was MBengas great game. Even Luke still played decent that year.

Rolled Utah in the First Round, the nerve wracking back in forth series with the Rockets, when Kobe and Ron got at each other, Fish checking Scola. Then the Nuggets Series, Kobe's angry Game Face and him silencing the whole Pepsi Center with a big 3 in Game 6 will be one of my all time favorite Moments. Finals vs Orlando, Fish coming through again in the clutch with two big 3's, Kobe finally winning his 4th Ring and getting Finals MVP.

What was not to love about the 09 Lakeshow

It would have been a different team though. Who knows if the team is even in a game 7 situation with Ariza on the team. I think it could have went either way for the Lakers. I was a big fan of Ariza. Not only was he exciting but he knew his role and stuck to it. Thats the one thing I hated about Shannon Brown. As exciting as he was to watch, he just tried to do too much.

Farmar and Ariza could be giving major contributions to this current team... heck even Sasha and Powell... Yeah that group is missed... great year, awesome run
