anyone else excited to have 2 1st Rounde

Post#1 » by Lord_Vader » Tue Mar 6, 2012 7:34 pm

Just a little over 3 months until the draft. I don't know about you but for some reason I always root harder for Lakers who are drafted by us. Nothing beats a young hungry player whos trying to make a name for himself. Well its march..who are some guys you are keeping an eye on?

2 1st rounders plus a mid level free agent could make our bench more exciting/explosive again

we could look to add
a playmaking wing
PG- not sold on Morris
Front court depth

this is the time to watch college basketball..who are some guys to keep an eye on.

Austin Rivers
Marquis Teague
John Jenkins
Tony Wroten
Bradley Beal
Michael Gil Gilchrist
Doron Lamb
Kris Joseph
Marquies Teague #######
Quincy Miller
Tim Hardaway JR
Mych Kabongo my favorite
Allen Crabbe
Ian Miller
LeBryan Nash
Adonis Thomas
Mike Moser
CJ Wilcox
Bj Young

any guys you will keep an eye on?

If Rivers and Beal declare they will be lottery picks. Kidd-Gilchrist, Miller, and Kabongo are all more than likely returning for their sophomore seasons. Especially Gilchrist seeing as he said he would, and even if he doesn't he'd be a lottery pick. Miller doesn't have much incentive declaring this year when he could stay another year and be a lotto pick rather than a mid 1st in this year's draft. Teague isn't that impressive, Wroten hasn't lived up to expectation, LeBryan Nash can't shoot and is basically the exact same SF that we have in Artest. Adonis Thomas suffered a season ending ankle injury so it's hard to see him declaring, and Kris Joseph and Doron Lamb aren't worth 1sts.

The rest I don't know about.

No especially when they are late picks in the draft if the Mavs and Lakers make it to the playoffs, which they likely will. But will get hyped up when the drafts come around. It's premature at the moment to even think about it now.

If it means the Lakers did nothing and kept the picks. I am not thrilled for late first rounders.

If it means LA stole some people in some deals without giving up 1st rd picks, then I am thrilled.

As far as the players they could get should they keep both picks...it is not too great. If they can find one rotation player out of the two, it would be a success.

Both of those picks will be gone soon enough.

the mavs pick is actually at #20 right now, and since its top 20 protected, the lakers wouldn't get it.

not to sound elitist, but I like my basketball at a professional level. I can't stand rookies in the NBA let alone watching lower level quality basketball.

Fair enough. There are many that argue that college is greater than the NBA from a pure basketball standpoint. To me NBA > NCAAB, but March Madness > NBA Playoffs.

See I still prefer the playoffs over march madness. The NCAA tournament is much less exciting to me.

If you fill out a bracket for money it becomes instantly more exciting because you have a dog in every fight.

That's one thing a lot of Vietnamese men like to do. Bet on sports. But if I ask them who their favorite player is, they have a blank look on their face wondering if that was a serious question.

I like to see the Mavs not go over #20th place for that long.
